I bought this to use mostly at home and occasionally take on a camping trip with a large group. This thing is big, heavy and bulky. When I do take it on a trip where its size is needed, it's a bear to move around. You'll need to buy the (extra cost) zippered bags, one for the base and one for the griddle top. When you light it up on low as instructed, the top warps and flexes. To their credit, Camp Chef did replace my first griddle when 1/3 of the spot welds broke almost immediately after the first heat cycle. The drip tray and spout are horribly designed and grease is constantly dribbling down the left front leg instead of into the tray. But it's the only one this size with handles and folding legs, so I can't think of another option. Close, but not quite there. A few tweaks and this could be the perfect home/travel flat top.
Great grill and a lot of fun to cook with. Quality parts and cooks well. *Camp Chef needs to modify the front legs to be wheels and not adjustable feet. It can be a pain to move around
Helped friend with his unit. A step backward from previous model that had grill grates. Not sure it's even offered as an option. Would look for leftover old model.
The griddle is great. Runs a tad hot, but high quality, no sticking; very happy with it. The hood/lid seems like a complete afterthought. The whole hinge design is a bit floppy and not super smooth acting. The hood itself is thin and cheap, with the inside of it flash rusting after the first use (good thing food won't contact it). Overall, I would have preferred the "old" version that came with grates.
We love our Flat Top 600! Convenient outdoor cooking and you don't have to heat up the house.
Well it finally made it, it's a nice griddle. I bought this sight unseen videos only and recommendation of The Flat Top King on YouTube. I like it but FedEx shipping is maddening. Customer service is nice but shipping is slow they work 4-days a week. Now the top is nice couple of paint rubs on the hood and a small ding but hey it's used outside. The Griddle it self seems warped but once heat gets applied it may change but I got the adjustment out all the way on back corner to take out the wobble. I still like it, I bought it because of the support on the bottom. I am sure it will cook well depending on me. I am pleased but not pleased with shipping. The gentleman with FedEx Express today was great said he was sorry.

I bought the Flat Top 600 and have mostly been happy with it. There are a few issues: 1. The middle rack came with a lot of scratches on it. It's not a deal breaker, but not great for a new product to come damaged. 2. The flat top does not sit flush on the grill. This makes cooking somewhat unpleasant since it's not an even surface. This is definitely a major annoyance. I'll likely have to prop up one side with washers to keep it from rocking. 3. If it's slightly windy, the flames underneath go out. That said, I've cooked on it a few times and have been very pleased with the results hence the decent star rating.

Restaurant quality cooking out doors. This is by far the best grill I have ever owned or used. Easy to transport and set up.
This is our third cc product; bought a 900 for use at rowing events. So much better than Blackstone. Like it so much I bought this 600 for the house and the grill grates are just a bonus. Heats evenly. Only downside is the instructions are not the best but this is my third assemblage, so it went fine.
Moving up from a 2-buner P60X with a 14" single griddle that I purchased 5 years ago and have really loved. I really love my 600 unit. Seems to be very well built and cooks like a charm. I have a couple of friends with Blackstones which I have cooked on. Nothing about me would want to trade my Camp Chef.
Questions & Answers
Hi Rodney. We will have the same version displayed on the Camp Chef site.
Asked by Rodney | Answered by RodneyHi John, The grease capture cup needed when using the griddle top hooks onto the left-hand shelf. That requires the installation of at least the left-hand shelf.
Asked by John | Answered by JohnHello! Yes, this griddle will absolutely get hot enough to sear your steak!
Asked by RICHARD | Answered by RICHARDHello. It may be possible, but the manufacturer advises against it.
Asked by Tommt | Answered by TommtHi Michael, there is not a lid included with this item, but give us a call at 877-743-2269 and we can help you order a cover.
Asked by Michael | Answered by MichaelHello. The griddle has to be taken off in order to use the grill grates beneath, so they can't be used at the same time. There is no lid included.
Asked by Gmz | Answered by GmzHi there! Yes, this flat top griddle can be changed to natural gas by a licensed professional. When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
