Napoleon Reliability in a Built-in Grill
Napoleon's Built-in 500 Series Propane Grill is designed to install seamlessly into your BBQ island. Made with 304 Stainless Steel, the Built-in 500 grill is durable and stylish, laser-focused on performance.
4 Stainless Steel Burners
Burners are the heart of any gas grill. Napoleon's 16-gauge premium 304 stainless steel burner tubes are reinforced and feature an industry-leading design that provides proven longevity, performance, and efficiency. Complete combustion is the key, and these burners balance fuel and oxygen to generate a clean burn. Dual gas ports on the top and sides of each burner ensure even heating along the burner and produced fewer flare-ups.
Instant JETFIRE Ignition
If a grill doesn't reliably light, it's not a reliable grill. Napoleon's Instant JETFIRE ignition lights the first time, every time. The design sends a jet of flame to light each burner individually. You can light your grill with the twist of your writs. Batteries not required! With cross-lighting burners, in the unlikely event that a burner goes out or fails to light, it automatically relights. There's a cross-light bracket between burners that passes the flame to the unlit burner, assuring safe and reliable grilling.
Dual-Level Stainless Steel Sear Plates
Napoleon's sear plates help create the kind of BBQ flavor you love. When you grill, the plates are heated. As juices and sauces drip onto the plates, the drippings are vaporized to create smoke and steam that bathes the food in flavor. Additionally, the sear plates are staggered on multi-levels, creating even coverage across the grilling surface. This helps ensure even heating throughout your grill.
7.5mm Stainless Steel Iconic Wave Cooking Grids
Never underestimate the power of heavy-duty stainless steel cooking grids! As you can see, the Wave design is like no other, but it's not just because they look cool. The wave encourages even heating and provides more surface area, prevents food from falling through, and keeps the grill cleaner. The shape increases the grates' longevity by allowing for even expansion and contraction, reducing heat and cold's effect on the metal.
Napoleon Built-in 500 Propane Grill FAQ
Can I convert the Built-in 500 propane grill to natural gas?
Napoleon grills are gas specific and shouldn't be modified in any way. Fortunately, we carry the Built-in 500 Natural Gas version!
How big is the Built-in 500 grill?
The Built-in 500 is 33.5-in wide, 27.6-in deep, and 24-in high. It weighs 160 lbs. The main cooking grid is 29.5 x 18 inches, for a main grilling area of 525 square inches. The secondary grilling area totals 261 square inches.
Do I need an insulated grill jacket for the Built-in 500 grill?
The cabinet frame and cabinet MUST be made from non-combustible material! If not, you need to install the grill with the Napoleon Zero Clearance Liner. Note: the item description specifies the 700 Series grill, but Napoleon confirms this liner also works for the Built-in 500.

In August I purchased a 32" Napoleon 500 grill and a Napoleon rotisserie. The rotisserie will not work on the grip, so I called the listed phone for Napoleon company and was put on hold for approximately 30 minutes before being invited to leave my number for a call back within 48 hours. The call never came. I sent an email to the company receiving no response. I found a local dealer from whom I ordered the correct rotisserie, but they would not take the first rotisserie unit. Napoleon's communications are very difficult.

This is my 2nd Napoleon grill. Great value for the money.
This is a excellent grill and a very good value. Glad I purchased this product.
I've only used my Napoleon 500 series built-in grill one time. I had a landscape contractor finish my backyard in my new home in Colorado. I had them build a paver patio with brick walls for seating, a waterfall, a fire pit and my built-in grill. I cooked ribs on the grill and they came out the best ever. The heating from the grill is dispersed equally throughout the grill. It appears. Love the stainless steel On all components inside and out of the grill. The landscape contractor installed the grill but a natural gas company with a permit connected it to the gas line. Very happy so far.
28 years ago we bought a TEC built-in infrared grill for our new log home, being told it was the best. After 5 sets of replacement burners/grates, several igniters and the ridiculous effort required to keep it working only marginally, we simply stopped using it much. For over 10 years we have tried to find a replacement grill to fit our custom opening. Then a friend demonstrated and fed us from his new Napoleon Prestige 500 Pro. We were very impressed, went straight to the website, and found their built-in unit fit perfectly. We are again grilling 2 or 3 times a week. With even heat distribution, 37% more cooking surface, and simple maintenance, firing up the grill is again a pleasure. Noteably, the cost of the TEC in 1996 was double that of our new Napoleon, and near 3 times to keep it working. Regret not learning of Napoleon sooner.........much sooner!!

Soooo well built!!! Unreal warranty that I hope I never have to use.
I am a huge fan of Napoleon grilling tools as they are perfect for grilling and provide enjoyable grilling experience. This grill is so good and easy to clean, handle and operate and provides excellent grilling experience. I love it and it's so durable and functional. Would highly recommend it!
Had for about 6 months and highly satisfied with the even cooking.
I have this at my home and can't rave about it enough. Solid build construction and even cooking heat. Built like a tank and always fun to use

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
