Best grill I've ever owned!! Superior temp control.
Grill itself is great. Large cooking area. Easy access to fire. Rest of cart is mostly useless.

I upgraded from a trusty old Performer to the Summit Kamado S6. The S6 was easy to assemble, even by myself. It is lightweight but sturdy, and compares very nicely to heavier ceramic komados. I also like the gas assist, but do find it inconvenient when wanting to use the upper charcoal grate position. After things get lit, it's easy to control and maintain temperature. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to many happy years with it.
The propane charcoal starting device needs to be re-engineered. The igniter on mine failed in less than two years. Recently, the propane regulator also failed a little after two years and the replacement igniter failed again. The location of the propane flame is too low and should be closer to where the charcoal is located. After 3 years of use substantial rust has formed on the leg areas. Finally, one of the grilling rods on the grill surface has separated from the rest of the grill due to a poor weld. Given all of these issues, The Summit Charcoal Grilling Center is greatly overpriced. DON'T BUY IT unless you are willing to accept all of the above problems and probably other long-term issues.

We've had ours for a few years. The major problem is the ignitor. If you're grilling steaks, burgers etc, the ignitor is useless. The flame does not reach the charcoal in the high position. I bought a chimmy for regular grilling. I feel this should be addressed. Other then that, this grill is fabulous!
I have not had time to cook on the grill yet. But I did throw a can of charcoal in it to burn off the oils. I can already tell it will hold temp for long periods of time. I had a performer previously. I had to wait on a part that was not threaded. Not a problem especially when it comes to weber customer service. They asked me to send some pictures and describe the problem. And they sent the parts out right away. I purchased my first weber grill over 40 years ago and had many throughout the years. Not because they failed. I just upgraded and passed them onto my friends. Weber grills are made to last unlike other BBQ brands that I call throw away grills after a couple of years. When I go to the big hardware stores, I like to go over to the BBQ section. When I see people looking at BBQs, I go brag about the weber grills which I have convinced many people throughout the years, even my friends to purchase weber grills. Thanks again for another wonderful product and support.

Been very happy with it. Tried a pellet grill but can never replace charcoal. I tried once before but never again. I have always had a Weber kettle that always worked good but this new Summit S6 works so much better in every way. I think it is a little overpriced but glad I pulled the trigger and bought the one I wanted. No regrets.

Love this grill, it's sooo Weber. It's well thought out. Weber has taken the Performer and put it on steroids. They added double wall air Insulation, stainless gasket lid insulation, rapid fire vent system, super beefy stainless grilling & charcoal grates, visual indicators for bottom vent settings, a port & cover for automatic temp controller, increased the cooking grate to 24", heavy duty hinged lid, a drawer, copious amount of storage underneath and a large stainless steel work space. This is the ultimate grill / kamado, it has it all. It comes with everything you would need. It's ready for low & slow, searing and indirect right out of the box. I've used ceramic cookers and this to me is more user friendly. The air insulation is incredibly efficient at maintaining temps during cold & wind additionally its lighter and can adjust much quicker temperature overshoots. If you are on the fence pull the trigger, you won't be disappointed.

I bought this as a housewarming gift to myself three years ago and have used it almost weekly since. It replaced my smoker and old grill. With the addition of the Spider Venom fan controller, this grill will hold 225 for 20+ hours and still have fuel left. The propane starter clogged up due to my own lack of cleaning, but I use the wax cubes anyway. With a Vortex, you'll make the best wings you've ever had, and sear your meats beautifully. And the best thing about this grill is that all you need is lit charcoal. No motors, no propane, no electricity. If you can light a fire, you can cook.
I purchased my Summit Kamado S6 to replace my Performer and 18" Smoky Mountain (which are amazing cookers) since I now live in a cold climate and wanted an insulated cooker to cook more consistently in the cold. I'm still learning the habits of this cooker, but so far I know I'm going to love its efficiency and temperature stability. I like the fact that it's a grill and smoker in one, and it does each well. One feature that disappoints me is the gas ignition. I love my Performer because of the gas charcoal igniter. The igniter on the Summit Kamado is useless in the "grilling" configuration. It works fine it the lower "smoking" configuration. Weber needs to come up with a fix for this, as this is marketed as a key feature of this cooker. All in all this cooker is an expensive investment, but if it lasts as long as most Webers do, and if there are problems or issues with it and the warranty and/or customer service takes care of it, it will be a smart purchase.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
