Weber Spirit S-315 Freestanding Propane Gas Grill - Stainless Steel - 46502001

My Weber Spirit grill was less than a year old and relatively clean with a new/free-of-grease drip tray. While grilling hotdogs and hamburgers the grill box caught fire from the grease and burned off after about 5 minutes. In the process, the cheap metal grill box melted, buckled and split. Holes formed at the front and back and flames were coming out. It ultimately burned off safely, but the lower black grill box was ruined. I contacted Weber with concern that the grill couldn't withstand this level of heat. To their credit, there service was responsive. However, they insisted it was my fault for allowing a buildup of grease and that I should control the temperature to not allow it to reach 500 degrees or so. They blamed it on the grease fire and said it was my fault for allowing it. Seems to me this is probably a pretty common scenario and a quality grill should be able to withstand this amount of heat. I was also put off by how concerned they were about their own liability. They were constantly wanting to confirm through chat and when I was on the phone with them that there wasn't fire damage to my house or the surrounding area. I wanted a refund to buy a different grill, as I didn't feel this grill was safe and didn't want the same thing to happen again. They refused and only agreed to send a replacement lower grill box and new burners. They also said I had to take the grill apart and install these things myself. I originally paid to have someone assemble the grill less than a year earlier and really didn't want this project, but had no choice. It also took a month to get the parts, so no grilling while I waited. So I would say their service people are responsive, but the quality of this product is poor and they put it on me to assemble it myself. I'm not sure what options are in this price point, but I'll pay more for better quality next time. Weber doesn't seem to be what they used to be.

Not satisfied with the fit and finish of the S-315 grill. I have the black w/stainless steel option. The black paint easily marred and scratched. I had the pleasure of assembling this unit. The directions are straight forward and the process was relatively simple. The one issue I had was in the last steps to put the door in place the predrilled hole for the hinge point was off by 1/4 inch. So the door gap at the top and bottom ranges from an 1/8 to rubbing when the door is closed.

Good grill well built but my Weber spirit silver 2002 model grill heats up faster and gets hotter

I love my Spirit S-315 Grill! Perfect size. Not too big. Not too small! The flame and heat cooks what i grill evenly. Everything has tasted great... Easy cleaning to!

The Weber Spirit S-315 gas grill is exactly what we needed. It lights up easily, heats up quickly, spreads the heat evenly, and is easy to keep clean.

very nice bbq, heats evenly unlike some cheaper brands. Nice having a built in propane tank gauge as well.

When we moved and downsized, we sold our larger grill with the side burner. This smaller model fits our new location perfectly, with the same Weber excellence.

This is the first of many bbq's I have owned where the heat is even no matter where you place the food on the grill AWESOME ! However … when I started to assemble the bbq, the back panel was the wrong one but the store where I bought it were very good about it and replaced it for me from another box no questions asked, the worst issue for me is the tray that guides the grease and such into the catch tray can't be removed for cleaning unless you remove the front door… bad design… rather aggregating for me.

Quick start up, heats evenly, does a great job grilling our meats. Higher quality, beefier construction than prior gas grills I've owned - should hold up better. Very satisfied with our purchase.
