Got this griddle plate to test a few months back, juuuuust got a chance to use it. Weather and life prevented me from grilling this summer. Got a chance to make some burgers on it, and it worked exceptionally well including toasting the bunds. No flare ups and easy clean up. I was hoping to do a breakfast on it with some French Toast and bacon. Look for an update with that!!! I found it to be heavy duty and fit well on my grill. This would be an excelent addition to any grill, get two if you are having more then a few people over as it just replaces one rack.

I was honored the opportunity to receive this product to test and the Cast Iron Reversible Griddle proved beyond a worthy accessory for my Napoleon Grill. With this, purchasing a separate flat top style grill is not necessary. It is great for hibachi style mills but most recently, I made buffalo chicken cheesesteaks for the family. Being able to remove the smoke from the kitchen to outside making high heat meals is a HUGE bonus. Traditionally, we made our cheesesteaks inside but had to eat them outside because of the smoke, so we were pleased to not have to do that. The cast iron is sturdy enough to handle the rigors of the bench scraper and spatula used for hibachi and cheesesteaks and add great flavor when seasoned properly! Flip the griddle over and you are rewarded with the iconic Napoleon grill pattern for hotdogs, burgers, steaks or any other of your favorite grilled items. I had been considering purchasing a separate flat top grill for these meals but I am relieved I can use this amazing accessory instead of investing in that. Thank you Napoleon!!!
I wasn't really sure what I was getting until it arrived. I was surprised at how heavy (very) it is. Also, no type of instructions or explanation of what the item is made of? How about cleaning instructions? Can I use steel wool to clean it.I don't grill that much at this time of the year. It is always raining here in FL. I finally carried it out and placed on my grill. I think it should be a little more square so it only takes up half the grill. The length takes it into the other side of the grill.First time i used it was just a test run. I used a pot to cook some beans using the griddle side. Worked ok. Could have just used my stove. Second time I used the griddle side to heat up some waffles. Cook some breakfast sausage and eggs. At the same time I decided to cook some burgers on the grill side. Only could really cook two burgers because the griddle impeded the other side.Everything cooked ok. Then it came time to cleanup. Oh boy. I think I made a mistake by using a spay like PAM on the griddle. Trying to clean that off is difficult. Plus my sink is stupidly designed so I can barely fit two dishes in it. Forget about putting the griddle in to clean it. What a pain. Not sure what the other side of the griddle is for (the side with the raised ridges). It would be nice in an instruction (Guide) manual to explain this or give a specific web site for this info, I'll try cleaning some more but I'm going to be very hesitant to use it again. I gave it three stars but I could have given it only two.

Hi! Thank you for your honest and detailed review. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that the griddle wasn’t quite what you expected. The weight and size can definitely be surprising at first, especially without guidance. Your feedback about the lack of instructions and cleaning info is understandable, but there is more information about this on our Napoleon YouTube page, and our website has gone a long way in helping customers get the most out of their product. For cleaning: while we don’t recommend steel wool (as it can damage the surface), a soft brass brush usually works well, especially after the griddle has cooled but is still slightly warm. Avoid cooking sprays like PAM, as they can leave a sticky residue. Instead, try a light coat of high-heat oil. The side with the raised ridges is great for grilling items like meats or vegetables, it helps create grill marks and allows fat to drain away from the food. We understand this product might not be the best fit for your current setup or usage, especially with limited grill space and the rainy weather in Florida. But if you decide to give it another try, we hope the tips above help make it a better experience. Thanks again for your feedback; it’s how we learn and improve.
I'm really happy with this cast iron griddle for my Napoleon grill. It seasoned fast - two light coats of oil, a quick heat cycle, and was then ready for use. Heat up is even and steady, with no hot spots, and it did not warp at all even when I cranked the burners for smash burgers. Cooking on it is easy (burgers, sausages, chicken, fish, and breakfast) everything comes out great! Cleanup is just a scape (I used a stainless chain pad that I use on all of my cast iron), then a wipe with a clean cotton rag, followed by a little oil before I put it away. Quality feels solid (it's nice and heavy) and heat retention is excellent, so searing is a breeze. My only wish is that it were a bit larger, I may buy another for when I'm cooking for a crowd. Overall it is great addition, making my Napoleon grill even more versatile than it already was. Highly recommended!
I signed up to be a product tester and I received the Cast Iron Reversible Griddle free from Napoleon for testing purposes. I have used this griddle once since I received it. The griddle is solid cast iron and was very easy to use. All you have to do is season it to your liking, throw it on top of the grill grates and you are off and running! I decided to try burgers on my first go and they turned out great! The raised ribs on the reversible griddle gave the burgers the typical "browned grill" marks while still holding the juices in to help flavor and keep the burgers juicy. I am excited to try other foods on the flat side of the griddle. My next try at the griddle will be for breakfast.

My review would not let me attach photos, so I wrote a separate review and emailed it to the tester team's email address. I received the Cast Iron Reversible Griddle and installed it easily by removing one section of the stainless cooking grill set. The cast-iron griddle fit snugly in place (see photo). I applied a small amount of avocado cooking oil to clean it off (avocado oil can take high heat without smoking). Then I started the two burners under the griddle, and when it was hot enough, I placed two steaks on the griddle (see photo). They cooked to perfection, and there was no sticking, and it seemed to heat evenly, which is essential for a properly cooked steak. The griddle also cleaned up easily and is ready for our next cookout.
Fun to use my bbq in a completely different way! I've enjoyed transforming the bbq into a griddle where I can cook up pancakes, bacon, and eggs for breakfast or smash burgers for dinner. I had been considering purchasing a blackstone, but now I don't need to.
I was originally shopping for an electric griddle, so when I found out about the Cast Iron griddle accessory for my Napolean grille I figured I would give it a try. I've been testing this griddle for a month and its been great. So far I've cooked smash burgers on it, fish and also a couple of steaks. Once of the nice things is that it keeps the juices and prevents meat/food from falling into the grill, especially with smash burgers. Also I like to have a little more fat content in my burger patties so it also prevents those flair ups that can occassionally occur when using the regular grill grates. I grill all season so once the weather gets cold in winter I think this reversible griddle due to it being cast iron will retain heat much more and reduce cook times.
Perfect size, perfect sear. Excellent for burgers, veggies, steaks, holds heat well. Great accessory for the napoleon.
Received this about 3 weeks ago and have used it for , burgers, bacon , shrimp and salmon , I love napolean products and this is no exception, ease of use , heavy duty and fits on the grill perfect , saves space and money by not having to get a separate flat iron grill ,

Hi Karen. This is the correct griddle for the Napoleon Prestige 500 grill: https://www.bbqguys.com/napoleon/cast-iron-18-x-13-inch-bbq-griddle-for-lex-mirage-485-500-605-730
Asked by Karen | Answered by WesleyHi Chris. Scraping the grease into Napoleon grills directs drippings into a centralized collection cup.
Asked by Chris | Answered by WesleyHi Phillip. Cast Iron, like most cookware, is easiest to clean while hot, but remember that this can also be dangerous if the proper caution isn't taken. The most important thing to remember is to not use anything too abrasive like steel wool. A sponge, or a stiff brush or scrubbing pad will work great. Use hot water, and try to avoid using soap unless necessary (a little soap won't ruin properly seasoned cast iron cookware). Scrub off any residue, rinse, and dry immediately, using paper towels, a dish towel, or by setting in a warm/hot oven or on a burner. Once dry, you can season it by applying a thin sheen of oil to the cooking surfaces, and setting it in an oven up-side down at medium temperature for 30 min to an hour. You shouldn't need to season the griddle very often, only if you notice that food is sticking.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
