Napoleon Stainless Steel Spatutong - 55019

So I waited to do this review because I had mixed feelings about this tool. In one hand it's clever and neat and on the other hand there's just a few things that I wished they had developed a bit differently. Overall I give this tool a 5 because it's a great addition to my arsenal but it doesn't replace anything in specific. The one thing that would make this better is if the tip matched up on the long end because when you're trying to use them as just tongs you have about 1/4 of inch that prevents you from grabbing small stuff. Overall like I said great addition but doesn't necessarily replace any other tools.

I have had this utensil for about 2 months now, and it it very handy! It is built very solidly and should last many, many years to come. It's great for a grilling day where you have a combination of different meats and veggies going at one time. The spatula helps with wider items like burgers and zucchini, while the tong side works great for sausages and such. I very much would buy this again!

Great all in one tool to use as spatula and and tongs. Nice to not have to use multiple utensils when grilling different items at once.

We have used this Spatutong many times. It is a handy addition to our BBQ tools. Great size and design. My only criticism is that the ring to pull and open the Spatutong is too stiff or hard to pull, especially for my wife.

I was not expecting to like this as much as I do. Now I use it all the time. Makes flipping delicate pieces a breeze and the solid construction does not have you worried about dropping anything.

Great product! (I received this item free from Napoleon for testing purposes.) These Spatutongs are an all-in-one grill tool! I love that it is both a spatula and a tong. It is especially great with fish which can be sometimes difficult to flip. From grilling steaks, hot dogs, or your favorite fish, this tool lets you grill with authority and confidence. I look forward to using the Spatutong every time I grill!

Wow! What a great tool. My favorite feature is the serrated edge on the spatula side. It's really a 3-1 tool! Perfect for thicker cuts of meat like steak or burgers, but agile enough to maneuver individual chicken wings or fish. The Spatutong is a great length that's easy to use. A must have for any grill master.

Super impressed with this spatuwhatchamacallit. I tend to have issues with flipping burgers where when they land they slide under the grill grates. Problem solved as this device allows me to hold the burger and control the landing. Also, it is better than just tongs because you don't have to rip meat off the grates....you can eat right under there and grab it. I was a little nervous sticking this in the dishwasher but after a few washes it looks better than new. My Pampered Chef spatula is moving to the #2 position now.

It is very sturdy and made it easy to flip larger items like burgers, large pieces of chicken, etc. It does take a little getting used to, especially for smaller items like veggies. We wouldn't necessarily replace our tongs all together with this item, but for those times when using both a spatula and tongs this is a great solution. It makes it easy to both grasp and flip. It is easy to clean. We ran it through the dishwasher and it came out great. We would recommend this item for folks who grill often.

Full disclosure -- I received this product free from Napoleon for testing purposes. The Napoleon Stainless Steel Spatutong is a durable, solid, versatile grilling tool. If you could only use one grilling tool, it would be a good choice. Grillers who already own grilling tongs and a spatula will prefer those tools for heavy-duty grilling. But for everyday grilling with easy cleanup, the Spatutong is a great choice, and will be a regular part of my grilling tool set. I've owned the Spatutong for about two weeks. I've used it four times: * Pork chops * Steaks * Chicken (breasts & thighs) * Hamburgers, brats, and hot dogs It's worked well for each type of meat. It is particularly well-suited for hamburgers that need support when flipped. The serrated edge on the spatula side comes in handy when meats stick to the grill. As previously mentioned, the fact it's 100% and dishwasher safe makes it a good choice for everyday grilling. The lack of a wood or rubber covering is a big plus, with no drawbacks (those coverings are pointless). For a full grill that includes any kind of sausages, I wouldn't want to be without standard tongs. Given the spatula side, the Spatutong is not as nimble as required in that scenario. My only suggestion for improving the Spatutong would be to increase it's length by about 30%. With a hot grill, I've had to flip steaks very quickly to avoid burning my hand.
