Customer Reviews
Very portable. I work on the road and it's easy to move from the bed of the truck, doesn't roll around. Heats up quick but I don't think the analog or digital thermostat are accurate. I'm use to using charcoal so this works for a BBQ for me and adds smoke flavor.doesnt mention anything about a warranty, wish it didn't take 20 mins for shutdown. Few minor things but bang for the buck I like it
I've had it for a year and use it at least twice a month rain, shine or snow. With the kids gone and entertaining on hiatus, this is the perfect size for us. Smoked salmon, short ribs, spare ribs, back ribs, cornish hens, tri-tip, corned beef, sausage, jalapeno bombs, you name it-it's all good! One suggestion: empty pellets from the auger after use; humid conditions can disintegrate the pellets and clog the auger.

This past extended weekend was my first outing with the Frontier Traveler. This grill performed wonderfully for grilling burgers, smoking chicken, and smoking some brats! The size of the smoker is perfect for those looking to be mobile and the setup time, ease of use (pellets), and convenience of the temperature setting ability make this the perfect addition to my semi-nomadic life traveling with family and friends. I look forward to more opportunities the expand my smoking skills over the next several months.
This is the perfect size for camping. The heat up and cool down time is minimal. We were able to cook all our meals including a batch of brownies on our week long trip. I do recommend having a 12 gauge extension cord dedicated to your grille
I have had this smoker for a year and have used it 6 times it has huge temp swings if I start on smoke and let it try to stabilize it will go up to 450f or hotter according to the digital read out while the lid thermometer may read 200-225. Once I set it at 300 it gets going and fluctuates between 235-450 and smokes like it is trying to relight and then back up to 450. I Have talked to tech help but haven't had any luck fixing the problem. Really hope there is some way to fix it as I do like it and it does fit in my RV perfectly. Have a pit boss at home and it works awesome. The tech guys were great to talk to.
It so easy to use. It cooks really well. I am not a cook by no means but enjoyed smoking and cooking on the traveler. We will bring it when go camping
I have had mine for about a year now. I am a traveling CT technologist and this little gem fits perfectly in my truck. I have yet to make anything off the grill that I did not like. This is a must for those who travel a lot for work if you want to smoke your food.
What p settling I use for smoking a chicken or brisket
I bought the smoker almost a year ago. Worked amazing. Now I can't use it as I've been waiting on parts since October of last year. Every time I call I get told Oh next week oh 2 weeks oh by the end of the month. I called today as I was told it would be in the mail by the end of February. Well it's come and gone again and still no parts. Now I'm being told I won't get it until may. I can go buy a brand new one right but can't get parts. I'm beyond angry off at this point. I was going to add a larger smoker this year and was eyeing a pit boss but knowing they cover pit boss as well that's out of the question!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
