This makes it hard to maintain a temp during a low and slow smoke. I contacted customer support and they mailed me a new gasket but told me that it would probably continue to ruin my gasket over time. The DoJoe is easy to use for making pizza but beware of it potentially ruining the original felt gasket on the Joe 1 lineup.

Love the DoJoe! Pizza tastes like classic wood fired pizza! Few concerns: 1) the stone gets hot over time, so you have to find the sweet spot to not burn your crust. 2) when your finished, the fire goes until you are out of fuel because of the open front. You can't snuff it out early, an add-on of a front opening closure would be great!

Takes the guess work out of pizza on the Joe. Maintains the heat because you don't have to open the lid.
We used this on 4 occasions, and it cooked great pizza each time. However after the that 4th cook our lower gasket, on a pretty new Kamado Joe Classic II, just fell off. After researching this more, I found this is pretty much to be expected if you use the DoJoe. If you can accept this, and don't mind frequently re-gasketing your Kamado, then the DoJoe is excellent, as it does bake great pizza. I am only giving it a poor rating for design because it damages the Kamado, not because it doesn't function well.

Just got it this week. I was super excited as I have really enjoyed cooking pizza on my classic 2 affordable a few months and was ready to level up. I was disappointed that Do Joe didn't fit onto my classic 2 for whatever reason. The back side has about a half inch gap no matter how it was adjusted to. Becuase of this, the dome temp never went higher than 500 F even at the full fire power.. Not sure how to fix this.
Couldn't wait to try this out, and first time our pizzas were PERFECT! We love the DoJoe. Highly recommend!
The DoJoe made a great pizza, but it melted the gasket on the Classic 1. We brought the grill to approx. 600 degrees before the gaskets started to liquify. I thought this accessory was meant for this grill…apparently I was wrong.

I am very disappointed with this product. Not worth the money. looks nice but you can get the pizza stone for much cheaper and save some money and it will do exactly the same. I have a difficult time getting the heat over 550F. I guess I expected much more, from this
It's the expected high quality materials from Kamado Joe. As a rookie pizza griller, I find it difficult to manage the pizza in the narrow opening, which was made easier when I got a peel that actually fit (as opposed to the one they sell). My only other issue is that it's a bit difficult to get the heat deflectors in and out. But my pizzas have turned out good, despite my issues loading/unloading the grill. Any issues are largely my lack of experience and not the DoJoe.
Having used this attachment 4 times I can confidently say that it is worth it. The flavor of the pizzas coming out the DoJoe is delicious (woodfired pizza). We can't go back to the kitchen oven again. There are a couple of things I don't like which may/may not be a deal breaker for some: There is a design flaw on this attachment - to get the best use of the hot surface, there is need to load a lot of coal in the basket (my Classic 3 needs almost the entire basket to reach 500F). Once I finish my cook (2 Pizzas), there is no way to block airflow completely so ~50% of the coal goes to waste. I have to believe there is a way to design the DoJoe with a lid or something to help shut down the unused coals. My second issue is the coating - it peels off easily. After my last cookout, I realized that my aluminum pizza peel (needed to turn and take out the pizzas) completely peeled off the coating in several places - my hope is that this area doesn't rust (I doubt it).

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
