I bought my 885 Ironwood a year ago and it came with two of the probes. I have used them several times, but 6 months ago I plugged in one of the probes to be told it was a bad probe. So I started using the second probe more often for single slabs of meat. Today as I threw my Holiday Ham on the smoker my probe that just worked 3 days ago now tells me that it's a bad probe. I wasn't expecting the probe to just suddenly go bad when it worked perfectly fine only 3 days ago. These probes seem to have a weakness in the wire leading from the probe to the plug, it's like they break in there and short out. Now I've taken good care of these probes. Washed only the probe end after using them. Stored them inside to keep them out of the elements and fluctuating temperatures. When I really need it now so I can focus on other events and prepping of the meal for my family the probe fails me.

I have 3 uses out of it and now it wont register the meat temp. Only senses the temp inside the smoker. Whats worse is there is nothing I feel I have done to make it go bad. Taken great care of my equipment. Its nice to use when you need to walk away so you have to have it. Was a big reason I paid the extra to go with my Ironwood 885. Reading all the reviews here I see this is absolute garbage. Not happy about paying this much for a replacement that you only get a limited few uses out of. Feeling cheated.

Not letting me use the super smoke mode due to "bad meat probe" error. I never use the probe anyway. I, as well as probably most people here, have enough cooking experience to not need a meat thermometer to tell when the meat is ready or at the ideal temperature / doneness. This should be an optional feature not a requirement.

I've had my grill for two years now and I love it. Everything is still working fine even though it's subjected to below freezing temperatures in winter and blistering heat in summer. I use a grill cover over it and it has also been exposed to a tremendous amount of rain. I'm ordering a set of new probes because mine is looking a little warn out now, but still working .

Great product, excellent customer service. The only reason for the 4 star is because it did take a while from the time support ordered (5/30) the replacement for me until I received it.

I've got ~20 hours on the grill & now the probe plug doesn't stay in the female port. I'm just out of warranty. When I type "probe" into the site search function… why is the site returning results showing T-shirts, grill covers… random stuff that doesn't have anything to do with "probe?" Of course, the probe port wasn't there either. Sure, sell the whole digital unit… but not any smaller part of it… lame. You should have site resources showing exploded view diagrams & associated parts lists. Make it easy to order parts. No need to provide your phone number & operating hours.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
