Traeger Timberline 1300 FAQ
Is the Traeger Timberline 1300 discontinued?
The Timberline 1300 is a current model in the Traeger lineup! They have introduced the upgraded Timberline XL, but it doesn't replace the 1300.
How big is the Traeger Timberline 1300?
The cooking grid is 34 x 16. The overall grill dimensions are 58 wide, 28 deep, and 51 high. The grill weighs in at 238 lbs.
How do you ignite a Traeger Timberline 1300?
The Traeger Turbotemp handles this. When you press the IGNITE button, the ignition and preheat cycle begin. In the unlikely event the mechanism fails, you can light the grill manually using the included instructions.
How hot will a Traeger Timberline 1300 get?
The Timberline 1300 will reach temperatures of 500 degrees Fahrenheit. This is enough heat to properly grill steaks. And of course, the Timberline 1300 can also operate as low as 165 degrees to give you the perfect range for low and slow smoking.
How can you use a Traeger Timberline 1300?
To paraphrase Bubba Gump, you can grill on it, you can smoke on it, you can sear on it, you can bake on it, you can roast on it, and you can braise on it.

Customer Reviews
I purchased the Traeger Timberline and had such high hopes for this grill. I returned it to the local merchant three weeks after I purchased the grill. I had trouble with the grill from day one. 1. The grill takes about 15 minutes to start smoking. I live in California and the temps were above 60 degrees and it wasnt windy. After 3 trips, the Traeger repair person was able to improve the start time to about 8 minutes by extending the hot rod further into the fire pit. Still it had a very slow start up. 2. It would take about 30 minutes to get the grill to about 300. About 50 minutes to take it up to 500. So much for turbo temp and the D2 drive train. This is slow, especially when it burns pellets at a rate of 3-4 pounds an hour to get up to this temp. I smoked some steaks at 225 and it took 25 minutes to get to 425 (wanted to reverse sear). That sucks! 3. Problem with super smoke putting soot all over food and grates. 4. Hopper doesnt work right. It sucks pellets over the auger creating a valley. You have to go out every few hours to mix up pellets in the hopper or else the auger will go dry. Yes, it was a level surface. 5. Traeger reps say it can take up to 50 minutes to get to full temperature (500) on the pellet grill when you call in reporting a problem. But they advertise fast start up and turbo temp, D2... This is deceptive-the advertise one thing but their service techs say something else. When you pay top dollar for a pellet grill, you expect it to work as advertised. Traeger needs to get their acdt together on this grill. Dont be fooled by their positive ratings on their website. Research Traeger forums on the internet and get the truth about this grill. Others on the forum says their rating was never published on this website; I am curious to see if mine gets published. I was so disappointed int this purchase. It was like I had a beautiful girlfriend that was ugly on the inside. The grill performed very poorly and was a bunch of trouble (daily phone calls-3 service trips in less than 3 weeks). I'm glad that Ace honored their return policy as I returned this grill and I am happy that I did!

You get what you pay for with this grill. It's big, heavy and a monster which means a lot of cooking capacity. It's bigger and heavier than it looks online. Very solid and quality built. However, with that being said, it does take a long time to get up to temp and burns a lot of pellets. Really need to be cooking large meals on this one.
It takes 45 minutes after Ignition before it starts it's preheating mode and once its heated don't open the lid or you will have to torn it off to get it to start ignition again once it goes thru it's cycle your go to go then it cooks great . I have 2 More tat are manually controlled that don't have that problem.

Love our new grill - this is the 3rd one we bought we have 1 in our trailer for camping and then 2 on our back patio
i am still waiting for my cover to arrive which was supposed to arrive the same time the grill did. I am very upset that my expensive grille is still out in the rain and snow with no way to cover it and also the only correspondence has been Initiated by me( with at least an hour wait on the phone both times) and still no answer on when we will recieve our cover that has been paid for some time ago.

There are several posts in the Traeger forums and Reddit posts discussing the various issues with the controller and WIFIRE. This grill is way to expensive to have the wireless issues people are having. I cant get the Grill to "Forget the Network" so I can hook up a old access point with B or G bands to even connect to it. There are several grills being manufactured now that have less issues for the money.

Great pellet grill. 3 levels make its easy to smoke more than one product. Only negative is Start early as takes very very long to start up.
I can't say how much I am enjoying this State of the Art grill. Great service. Smooth purchase , Great shipping time when it did ship. I purchased very close to Christmas so it may of been backed up a little. The assembly is easy. The product is award winning. And the app, recipes and in hand knowledge of what's going on with your food is Great!!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.

30-Day Returns

No Restocking Fee
Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.
