Traeger Timberline 1300 FAQ
Is the Traeger Timberline 1300 discontinued?
The Timberline 1300 is a current model in the Traeger lineup! They have introduced the upgraded Timberline XL, but it doesn't replace the 1300.
How big is the Traeger Timberline 1300?
The cooking grid is 34 x 16. The overall grill dimensions are 58 wide, 28 deep, and 51 high. The grill weighs in at 238 lbs.

The Traeger Turbotemp handles this. When you press the IGNITE button, the ignition and preheat cycle begin. In the unlikely event the mechanism fails, you can light the grill manually using the included instructions.
How hot will a Traeger Timberline 1300 get?

How can you use a Traeger Timberline 1300?
To paraphrase Bubba Gump, you can grill on it, you can smoke on it, you can sear on it, you can bake on it, you can roast on it, and you can braise on it.

I went from a Texas Elite to a Timberline 1300 and really like most of the features. I would like to have a bigger front shelf. I got used to that on my Texas. Also I would like to be able to have a cold smoker on it. I had a smoke daddy on my Texas with a cold smoker also. I do miss those

Going on my 3rd season with this baby and it just keeps getting better and better! Smokes like a dream and friends and family can't get enough que off this smoker. Timberline 1300
I have been a Traeger fan for years, not my first Traeger, and I have loved all the fun cookout times that I have had. I bought this grill during the original release, I got in line and felt fortunate enough to get one within a few weeks of the original shipping date. I have worked in embedded systems development for years, and I got about what I expected when I saw a grill company trying to design an internet of things device, quite a steep learning curve on the part of Traeger, and a lot of patience from me. I had a unit replaced because of an inexplicable blower fan error. I had a board replaced because the wifi antenna that they designed into it does not have sufficient positive lock and it came loose in shipping. I put up with all of the tunings and retunings of the PID control of the system, either causing the thing to spew smoke for the whole cook, or go out, or backup. I learned to dread the next firmware update, and what new quirks it was going to bring. A year or so in and I worked through all those issues with Traegers help, much happier now that so many of the firmware bugs were getting resolved, it has been more reliable, and I loved that I could program up my cooks and start them at night and wake up in the morning and expect it to be doing exactly the right thing at the right time. These were fantastic times, and I finally started feeling like I was getting what I paid for. Then the updates started to get worse. Unannounced database updates making it so my unit wouldn't show up without an app update, obfuscation of the only part of the app that I care about which is to control my grill, nonsensical "improvements" to the UI on the phone just making it harder to do what I needed to do. Now with the latest app update I can't see my carefully curated custom cook cycles unless i use the manual interface on the front of the grill, and I don't believe that i can trust that to be there the next time I power it on and get an OTA update. I'm one firmware update away from selling this thing and getting something else. I've been a die hard traeger fan since I first started but they are making it really hard to stay that way. I still appreciate the patience and responsiveness of their dealers and customer support, but man the app is terrible, and I feel like I am at the mercy of the firmware update schedule. For a top of the line product, this was anything other than a top of the line experience.

Not only is the grill amazing but the box has beer holders. And the instructions also tells you what beer to be on from a 6 pack. If your a light weight disregard those instructions.

Timberline 1300 is a great, high quality product that convince you to cook!
We just purchased our second Timberline 1300. This one is for vacation home in southern Utah. FedEx dropped it off just before noon. My son and I spent less than an hour assembling it. Really, the instructions are so well written and the parts are all numbered. Even the bolts and nuts are separated into phases of assembly. That evening we smoked chicken. The next evening we had pork ribs and smoked cauliflower. Sunday was beef brisket and burnt ends. I think we got it pretty well seasoned. We didn't do any reverse searing this last week but steak will never be the same once you try it on a Traeger. The double wall insulation of not only the side walls but also the door make this pretty stingy with the fuel. The Wifire technology makes it so I could even take in 9 holes of golf while I was cooking dinner. If the cooking is moving too slowly, just turn up the heat from the golf course with the Traeger App on your phone. If you can't get back soon enough just turn the temperature to "keep warm". The Timberline is the perfect blend of the old art of smoking with modern double walled construction and digital technology. I LOVE wifire technology! The Timberline 1300 boasts enough room to cook multiple courses for a large family with very efficient fuel consumption. The best compliment I could give would be: Six racks of baby backs - All gone! 18lb full packer brisket - All gone! Compliments - Still flowing! I'm not just blowing smoke up your Traeger! As for the son who helped with assembly, he will be moving into a new home this fall. Guess what he wants for a housewarming gift. His brother has a Timberline 1300 just waiting in the garage to welcome him to the Traegerhood!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
