This Americana by Meco electric grill has a 1500-watt heating element that plugs into a standard household outlet. This electric grill features an easy-view window, a thermostat control with a low-medium-high setting, a reflector pan that directs heat to the cooking surface, and a pre-assembled grill hood and bowl. The three-position cooking element provides a versatile cooking experience by allowing direct and indirect cooking as well as rotisserie cooking when the element is turned to a full vertical position. The 22-Inch rotisserie kit includes the spit rod, forks, motor and brackets. The porcelain-coated cooking grate provides 202 square inches of usable cooking surface. The sturdy steel cart features two wheels, two handy fold-away side tables made to look like real wood, and a lower shelf for extra storage. The hood is equipped with a stay-cool wooden-like handle so there's no need to reach for the oven mitt every time it's time to flip your bugers. This grill is safe, simple, easy to clean, and just the right size to accommodate many spaces. This grill requires a minimum of 15 amps and standard 120-volt grounded plug. Grill is being used in a condo complex where charcoal and propane are not permitted. This electric grill more than fills the bill. Cooks very good and clean-up is easy.

I use mine year round. I have a screened in deck and cook all my meat on it. Love the easiness of it. Love the rotisserie option. My last one lasted 14 years. When replacing it I could not find one in my area, so I bought another type. Was disappointed, and the other one was missing parts. I returned the other one and started searching on line. I was thrilled when I found you and was able to purchase a new grill. Delivery was free and accurate. Thank You!

Installation instructions not clear, obviously written by someone whose first language is not English. Perfect size for a couple. Takes a bit long to cook, could use a few more amps(?). For the money it is a great bargain.

Have been using this grill for over 30 years and will continue as long as I can. Never need to change a tank of fuel while cooking. Excellent for larger boat..no need to worry about anyone stealing the tank of gas

Bought it almost a year ago. In the first 6 months it was fine, after that it has started decaying, paint started to bubble up and chip. Today the electric contact just exploded and the grill completely died. PROS: I like how quick it heats up and how tasty the meat gets. CONS: I hate how the engineering was so poorly done, along with the materials because it just makes it hard to clean as the heating unit doesn't turn enough to detach the base plate. The dripping pan is flimsy and has to be replaced frequently, but I could not find a replacement anywhere. I consider myself a careful user, but still the machine was falling apart after about 8 months of use. I don't intend on buying another one and will look for alternatives. The cons > pros.

Nice bbq...I am 85...was hard to put together, but I prevailed! Bbq is good..nice to not have to bother with charcoal or gas! Spit is very difficult to insert into the motor...not sure how long it's going to last...as every time I use it, it's a battle. Would have more stars except for the rotisserie...and getting rod into the motor.

Upon using it twice I don't like it. I don't think it gets hot enough to sear and charcoal my steaks, they were more like steamed instead of flame cooked. Also the left side doesn';t get as hot as the right side so the cooking is very uneven. I looked into 'returns' and for a grill its non existant. To return it is impossible - have to return it like it was new, come on! I can't unassemble it - I had to get someone to assemble it in thefirs

Hi R. Using an insulating blanket on the Meco Americana would cause it to overheat. This is dangerous and we cannot suggest it.

The "grill" or "BBQ" flavor is actually produced when drippings and grease fall down onto the heated surface below the cooking grates, and vaporize, rising back up to meet your food. So the short answer is no, you don't need any wood chips or pellets to achieve the same flavor that you would in another grill without wood chips or pellets! If it's wood-smoked flavor you want however, you will need to use chips with this grill.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
