My Regal is about 4 years old and I too am frustrated with the cast iron grills. Did all the recommended cleaning and storage and still rusted out grills. Frustrated as I don't want to buy a new one but might be forced to if the replacement is too expensive.

I loved my Regal 440 right from the start. Great look, great heat & temperature control and the cast iron grids made for great grilling appearance. However like many others, the grids are rusting badly, starting to peel/fall apart and pieces get into food that is placed directly on the grid. Had my bbq for less than four years, regular maintenance and cleaning, always covered and under shelter......but there was no stopping the grid problem. What to do now?? Spend the money on new cast iron and have the problem re-occur a couple years down the road or spend an awful lot of money on the stainless grids? Too bad, because overall bbq is amazing and I would recommend to others, but cooking grids are kind of an important feature.

Cast iron grids are great for delivering even heat and steakhouse sear marks but require regular seasoning to maintain their finish. Love this BBQ, heats well and auto start actually still works! However the grills have completely rusted out and cannt be used anymore. Not having any luck replacing them and do not understand why I cannot order them from the Broil King website???

I have owned several Broil King BBQ's now and love the way they perform and impressed on the support I have received when any problems occurred. I use my Regal all year long and do agree that the grills rust/break down even when seasoning. I have lived with moving the grills around to use the best ones the last few year but now looking at replacing the four 6" grill parts. At over $100 plus tax and shipping this hurts.

Let me start by saying that the grill itself is great. We're going into the fourth season with it, and it's been very durable overall, gets really hot, and seems like it will last for a really, really long time. Except for the Cast Iron Cooking Grids. Despite my best efforts to season the grids regularly, they are starting to rust and peel and need to be replaced. As one reviewer mentioned, it's not feasible to have to turn over the grids every time you use the barbecue to re-season the underside. And the underside has now rusted and cracked, and I cannot use the grids. I might be ok with this issue if the grids themselves were a little cheaper to replace, but they are expensive for a set of four. And the Stainless Steel ones, that would hopefully solve this problem altogether, would be even double that price. I think mine lasted longer than most of the other reviewers. I did try to stay on top of regularly seasoning them, so maybe that's why, but even that did not keep them usable for long.

I've been very happy with my grill in general, but these grates are rusted out and chipping away within 2 years. It's gotten to the point now where I can't use the grill because it inevitably imbeds pieces of the grates into the meat. So I'm left with choosing between leaving my investment sitting there unused or dumping more money into replacements earlier than I feel I should have to. Disappointed.

I have the Broil King Model 9225-64. After One season of grilling, the coated grill grates are starting to rust and pit. Unacceptable for what i paid for this grill. Tried cleaning to no avail, porcelain starts comming off with mild nylon brushing.

I bought the Regal 420 a little over 6 years ago and need to buy my 4th set of replacement grids. Lucky if they last more than a season and a half. Same story every time. The coating starts to flake then it's rust city. Love the grill itself but the replacement grids are expensive and don't last.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
