Unfortunately no go! I have used it and now can't return it. I have saved up over a couple of years and did my research. This is a fail. I got caught up in the sear box. It is not necessary at all! Low and slow is what it's about. Plus while smoking it jumps from 210 to 265, No I did not lift the lid. Really disappointed! I cook for the love of it. This was not a good addition! Being real!

It's been almost a year that I've had the Grill/Smoker and for the most part I'm happy with it. Area of improvement could be in how the smoker holds temperature. It doesn't seem to matter what the environmental conditions are I always see wide (±20° to 30°F or more) swing in temp. A friend who has another smoker said his has about a ±5°F. I contacted CampChef and they did send out new electronics and temperature probe but the problem continues. I put a seal similar to what is used on a wood burning stove to seal the lid better and that did help some. I still have swings but nothing close to ±5° I would expect. The searing grill is the nice part of this package. At altitude, I'm at about 7,000ft., it's hard to get a smoker to grill food but the searing grill works great.
I bought my woodwind 3 months ago with the Sear box.........I like it but if youv'e only ever cooked on a propane grill (like me)....get ready for a steep learning curve......Night and Day....seriously.......YouTube and Campchef instructional videos are sketchy at best......expected better for the expense involved in this grill..........After only 3 months my temp probe has quit working.......but I have a temp pro backup.....so working with that....cooking a 10lb turkey as we speak........set the temp to 375 and the temp display went up to 260 and now is going down to 181......but the meat probe is going up.......Go figure??...........

First off, I am not a grillmaster. Sure, I grill and do OK but would never had thought to try to grill a brisket or anything like that. We got the woodwind on Friday, assembled Saturday, burned it in on Sunday. It was all pretty simple. Then on Tuesday, for the first cook on it, I went all in and did a Brisket. Keep in mind, the only thing I had ever smoked before was a couple of chickens about 20 years ago. After deciding on making the brisket I start reading on the web about methods. To be honest, I started to get a little nervous when I started reading about how you can ruin a good piece of meat if you screw up. Well as they say, go big or go home. It was a 7 pound birsket, smoked for 10 hours and then gave is a two hour rest. It was ourstanding and I can take very little credit for that. VERY happy with the woodwind, can't wait to do some steaks and try the searing box.

I've received my Woodwind just about 2 months ago, and I fell in love with it! It was simple to put together too. So far I've enjoyed baby back ribs (3 slabs cooked at once), rib eyes. bratwurst, burgers, jerky, asparagus, and meat loaf. This grill couldn't be easier to cook or smoke with! It starts up quickly and the heat/smoke is ready in no time. There are only two things that I would change/add to this grill at this point: 1. There should be a cut out in the back panel so that you can view the ash cup as you are removing or installing it. 2. It would be very helpful if there was a weatherproof label on top of the pellet hopper lid, or something better than a label such as being engraved, that was a guide that showed the recommended wood types for the particular meats. Also, it could included a magnet to use as a marker, to remind you what pellets are currently in the hopper. I'd find this very useful, as I'm always ready to cook with different pellets. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase!

Have cooked several things on my new Woodwind Grille and I can tell you it is the best purchase of a grille I have ever made. Easy to assemble, easy to use and the flavor is amazing. The pellet and ash cleanouts put this grille above the rest. I looked long and hard at all the pellet grilles and the Woodwind was the best choice I found. So far I am very happy.
This grill is an absolutely amazing machine. The searbox is a must, it's a game changer. It takes the standard gas grill cooker and turns him into a 5 Star Steakhouse Chef. CAMP CHEF MY FAMILY LOVES YOU!!

Just put together and fired up my WoodWind grill yesterday. The grill is well engineered, and was very easy to put together. Everything lined up like it should with no modifications. All I needed was a screwdriver and the supplied Allen wrench. After the 30 break in period I cooked some chicken wings. I wanted something cheap and easy for my first cook. I smoked them at 300 degrees until at done temp, then I sauced them, and then I threw them on the sear box for less than a minute per side. The Smokey flavor along with the little bit of char made for a great flavor. I was impressed with how easy the grill was to put together and run. I also really like how the sear box design makes for even heat throughout the surface of the grate. I can't wait to use it again!!

I have had mine long enough to cook several briskets, pork ribs, steaks, and several pizzas. I even took it to the ranch for thanksgiving and cooked the turkey. Unlike most years, this year there were no leftovers from the turkey. Cleanup is easy, four wheels makes it easy to move around. Would I recommend it to a friend? Already have to many of them.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
