I purchased the woodwind a few months ago and I've used it every single weekend with the exception of one. I am a bbq fiend and would find myself in one of many bbq joints at least once a week. I've not stepped into a singe one since I bought this smoker. I don't know how I made it without one for so long

First off I can't express how easy this was to assemble and how well every piece is engineered. I've grilled this winter in 10 degree weather and no issues. (yes I purchased the blanket which fits very well) Along with Thermoworks Smoke system, you can't mess up. Make sure you put foil on the drip pan before your first use to save a ton of clean up. Cast Iron grates are a nice edition if yours didn't come with them. The sear works well but cools off rapidly with the lid up in freezing weather. The ease of cleanup on this windwood is well thought out. Being able to dump the pellets and the ash pan was a major selling point for me and after having this for a few months, I appreciate it even more. My only issue with the grill is the drip chute area. I remove the bucket after every use and plug with rag so the drippings don't stain my deck. I originally left the drip bucket on (after cleaning it out) but apparently critters want to enjoy too!
I am very pleased with my Woodwind with the side sear box. Homemade pizza might be the family favorite. They even raved about the burgers! The pulled pork was excellent - I can't believe I ever BBQed without a heat probe! A female friend who never eats hot wings absolutely loved my hot wings at our Superbowl party. All the on-line tips and videos and recipes have been extremely helpful as well. I did have to buy a pellet 'smoke tube' because I was a little disappointed in the amount of smoke billowing from the chimney and the grill when I opened it. I hope that it can provide some more 'smoke' flavor and a more pronounces smoke ring on my ribs etc... We can't wait to try some think rib-eye steaks this weekend!
After years babysitting my charcoal smoker, I decided to make the switch to a pellet grill. Research led me to the Camp Chef Woodwind, and I've no regrets! I have yet to pull a bad piece of meat out of this smoker. The ash clean-out allows you to go several smokes before having to do a deep clean, and the pellet clean-out makes switching flavors a breeze. But the real game changer is the sear station. My wife says she has never enjoyed steaks and pork chops as much as those I've reverse-seared over the 900 degree cast iron sear box. Kudos to Camp Chef for giving us all the bells and whistles without the exorbitant price tag!
I have a chance to try out my new Woodwind grill and I am impressed with the unit. The assembly was fairly easy and I accomplished it by myself while watching TV. The unit itself has enough room on the grates for a good family meal! Several racks of ribs can easily fit at one time. The cleanout of the ash is my favorite part so far as I can start clean each time without having to remove the grates, drip pan and shield. Thank you for incorporating this feature. I tend not to switch out my pellets so the pellet drop most likely will not be used too often by me. The meat probe is also nice although I use a wifi unit that sends the meat temp directly to my cell phone and I don't have to go outside and read the temp! The only issue I encountered is getting the temperature up to set temp during a cold windy evening. I was not able to get it past 335 degrees in the cold wind. I was used to an old Traeger 100 that still had the thick metal (before they went to the thinner metal all are using today) and it preformed much better in the cold wind. I may need to invest in the blanket if I do any more chilly night BBQ'ing. Over all the unit gets the job done. Being a 20+ year Traeger owner, I was a little skeptical switching brands but so far so good!
I had a Traeger for six years prior to making my Woodwind purchase, when my Traeger stopped working I did a lot of research into making my next smoker purchase. i am so glad I chose the Woodwind. I never had issues with my Traeger, I just like the added benefits of the Woodwind, such as the ash clean out and the pellet clean out. I have cooked ribs, pasta , and chicken on my new Woodwind and everything has came out amazing!

If you have see the info commercials for Pellet Grills pay close attention to what is not included and what is not an option and compare it with a Camp Chef. Camp Chef has used a lot of commonsense in building there grills. The reason i gave them four stars is i would rather have a stainless steel cooking surface instead of a coated iron grate. The Woodwind works great and it is nice not having to add wood chips throughout the cooking time .

I am a professional Pitmaster, I have never cooked on a pellet cooker. I would never purchase another Camp Chef. I have competed against a few teams that use a pellet smoker and they swear by them. Me not at all. My Camp Chef will not hold a constant temperature. It is either way to high or way to low. Do yourself a favor and save your money

I purchased this roughly two months ago and have cooked pork chops, brisket, hot dogs, ribeye and brisket that have all come out great. I will be trying new seasonings and items to grill/smoke. I love the smoker and am happy with my purchase as it is a well built versatile smoker with the side sear box that i Love.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
