Customer Reviews
Bought this for my husband, for his birthday. He is not an easy one to buy for. He was thrilled with how versatile it is and easy to operate. Smoked ribs and grilled steaks all in the same week! Delicious and easy to do.
Grill cooks great food is never dry gets great smoke flavor. Buuuut the craftsmanship is awful for the price I payed for this thing I expected it to go together perfect. Well that was not the case the holes to bolt the legs on did not match up with the legs. So on 2 legs I got one bolt in and the other both are half way and crooked! Then the lid is a little skewn and not square but seems to not let to much smoke out.

After months of research on pellet smokers, I decided on the Camp Chef Woodwind. I have had the smoker for about three weeks and have worked it pretty hard. I am very impressed with this smoker. It is extremely well built. The unpacking and assembly process is a breeze. I decided on the Woodwind over the DLX because of the free cover and bag of pellets. I am very pleased with my purchase. Thank you, Camp Chef!!!
Three cooks in so far couldn't ask for better results. Doesn't appear to put out a lot of smoke but flavor still there.Well worth the money tried cheaper pellet grills none compare.
I purchased my Camp Chef Woodwind and I couldn't be happier that I did. Assembly was very easy and the meals I have made have turned out incredible. Love the ease of changing pellets as I try different meats and try the different smoke flavors. Very happy I went with the Woodwind.
I bought this about a month ago I would recommend this to anyone. I just wish that it had a wireless app that would send temperature to your phone and cooking time.
I have been using my Woodwind smoker for a little more than a month. I have smoked everything from Ribs to meatloaf, chicken, Butt and Salmon. Everything turned out like I went to the best barbecue joint in town. If not better.
Easy to assemble, I put it together myself in about 45 minutes. A few things I've noticed...White mark on temp dial is not quite in line with heat settings, so a little confusing at first. Overall smoke seems decent but definitely less smoke them my electric wood chip cabinet smoker. To be fair, I think all pellet smokers are like this. I may add a cheap smoke tube if it doesn't improve. So far it has performed fairly well. I've really not done any long smokes yet as it's been a little too cold weather wise, which has definitely caused the temperature to drop quick after opening lid. So far, I have used it to cook steaks, burgers, wings and pizza. Since I have another smoker with a sear box, I have used it to reverse sear the burgers and steaks. I probably will add the woodwind sear box for convenience once it warms up and I really start my smoking season. I would recommend adding the sear box if you plan on using it to grill with, as it is a necessity for finishing steaks and burgers.
Love it. Been researching pellet grills for a while. Every study I found said this one is the best for the money. They were right.
I spent many hours sifting through numerous reviews...looking at several sites...and watching YouTube videos. I was confident in my decision to switch over to the pellet way of smoky goodness. I narrowed the candidates down, one by one. Many big names actually had consistently bad reviews about the same problems. Bad temp control, poor design, not enough smoke, etc. One brand had an intriguing flame cooking option that almost caused me to take the plunge. Nope. it had other bad reviews that steered me away. I decided on the Woodwind, without the searing box. Thought the temp got high enough, that it could be the one-grill solution. Nope, should've got the side burner also. Then, no sooner did I order the Woodwind, there's a new Camp Chef that has the flame cooking option. How's that for timing?I've been grilling, smoking, boiling, and frying for many years and was tired of the temp fluctuations, the messy charcoal and the various grills that cluttered up the back porch. I've cooked sausage, pork butt, tri-tip, chicken, bacon, wings on this and plan on trying much more. I'm overall happy with everything about this unit and will probably get the sear box when my gas grill wears out. I'm getting long-winded so here's the wrap-up... Great design and sturdy construction. Packing and shipping was spot on. Weak smoke flavor with the blend, so hickory pellets fixed that. I guess the only thing that bugs me is how sloppy the grate is when installed. It has a lot of front to back and side to side movement, but doesn't really cause any problems. Sorry for the long read..just order one already. You'll be happy with your decision.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
