I bought this last summer and enjoy cooking on it and have recommended it to others
I've had this 440 deluxe pellet smoker for about 6 months, & have been impressed every time I've used it. To date have cooked 6 briskets, 3 pork loins, 12-15 racks of ribs, & a 21lbs turkey which was the best & juiciest turkey I've ever had. You won't be disappointed with your purchase, I only wish it were a bit larger so I could cook more at once. Only recommendation is if you use a water tray inside it be careful not to slosh it, as it will extinguish your flame & dump all your pellets into the grill, Jensen no more cooking! Not something you want to wake up to if cooking overnight, trust me!
I purchased my grill in or about June 2017. I am unable to render a rating because I have been able to use the grill. First the temperature control had to be replaced and then the igniter failed. I understand the grill can be lit like a charcoal grill, but after about 4 months of frustration, I just gave up. So much money for an ineffective item. It is still "brand" new and appealing to the sight. I hope my comments will not get me sued, as I am expressing solely my experience. I am 83 years old and totally non-mechanical. Also, I am not blaming anyone but myself as I voluntarily made this purchase.
Like that it can be used as a grill or smoker. The cover is made of heavy weight fabric so it should withstand the extreme temperatures here.
I've had my pit boss now for a little over six months and it has not let me down. I've done elk jerky, brisket, ribs, steaks, etc. all have come out perfect. Being able to sear the steaks that finalized my decision on the pit boss. I can cook steaks up to three inches thick and not burn them or throw them in the oven. Thermostat works perfect. It's like cooking with cheat codes.
I have had this grille for about 8 months. First the motor got stripped out and had to order a new one after the first use. Does not seem like the best design in the world for the motor. It just sits there and is not mounted or secured down. It just flips in place as the rotor turns. Just smokes ok. Maybe I am doing something wrong but at the low temperature the smoke is so little you really do not get much of a smoky flavor. Again, maybe my problem and did not read something correctly. But, I did not cook for a few months. When I went to fire it up all the chips were broken down into a SOLID chunk. I spent almost two hours (super bowl sunday) taking it apart to get all the solid chunks out. Luckily enough the motor still spins after getting all the mess out. So, now I make sure to just put in enough chips for the day and also make sure it runs empty so nothing is in the channel. Would not by a Pit Boss again.
We got it for Christmas and just love the flavor of the meat and the ease of use.
I want to scroll realizing that it had a microprocessor control system. That was turned out to be a disappointment. I find that I have to fiddle with it and change settings far more than a person should have to when dealing with the microprocessor control. For example I have to just set it for my guess as to what it needs for the ambient temperature. I expected that A microprocessor controller would determine how quickly the grill heated and cooled and would use that information to estimate ambient temperature. Given that information it would add fuel in small amounts rather than large chunks at one time in order to maintain the temperature. As is the temperature of the grill undergoes wild swings from very cold too very hot. Shurely a microprocessor system could meter the fuel to maintain temperature at a reasonable level. As I said I like the grill But I am unimpressed with the controller. Willing to help you develop a good control. Larry
Bought this pellet grill last fall. Really works well at all temperature levels. The cold smoke level (under 200 degrees) gives a nice smoke flavor without overpowering the meat. I've done brisket, fish, steaks and pizza on it. Never a problem. Want to buy another one to replace my other gas grill.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
