Simple design is often the best design. The 285's duality consistently cooks all 'grillables' as desired. Equally important is that it deals so well with drippings collection and makes short work of cleaning and residue disposal. Although touted as a portable, this is the perfect, do-it-all grill for a retired couple, replacing the family behemoth. This quickly became a most satisfying buy!

Similar to other owners it seems, both control knobs have broken (light use) and there does appear to be/I cannot find a way to purchase replacements. Additionally, no one has replied to warranty claim. Otherwise, grill works well and is just right for my space and needs.

Good little, grill. Difficult to find accessories at local outlets. Grease drip trays not available, grill cover not available locally. Retail outlets for this grill need to keep above mentioned accessories on hand.

I purchased a TravelQ 285X grill about 3 years ago. The grill is fine for my wife and I, however it has an extremely weak point. I probably use this grill perhaps 10 times a year and both of the gas control knobs have broken more than once. I have replaced two of them and I now have another broken one. There is a weak point in the knobs where they push onto the metal gas control shaft. Inside the knob is a thin metal tab and, where this tab is inserted into the plastic surround, the plastic is perhaps only 1/16th of an inch thick. Normally there is very little mechanical load of this knob because it easily turns to control the gas flow, however this knob, when pushed in, is also used to initially ignite the gas and this amount of load on 1/16th inch of plastic causes it to break after very little usage. So, in my opinion, if you purchase one of these grills, be prepared to order new gas flow control/igniter knobs about once a year.

Its a good grill. Well built. The left burner flame is much lower than the right burner flame. I asked customer support for help. They did not read my question and told me how to re-calibrate the regulator. Not much help. It also does not work well when hooked up to a large propane tank so I have to use the green gas bottles.

I bought this grill three years ago to replace a larger propane grill. This grill is great all year round for that quick grilling we sometimes want without firing up the pellet or kamado grills. For convenience, I bought a hose adapter to connect it to a 20# propane cylinder. It lights every time. Customer service is fantastic, the best I've seen. There were two incidents. In one, a knob stripped rendering that burner useless. Customer service sent me a working knob of a different style until they could get I stock and ship the correct replacement knob. In the second, the wind blew it over and the handle broke. Napolean shipped me replacement parts quickly and at reduced price. We've never not had enough room on it for the two of us. It's great for quick burgers and/or hot dogs for more people. We've served four adults and a toddler from it. This is the best propane grilling experience I've had.

Great little grill. I've used several times since purchasing, with great results. So far, the only issue I've had is the flames blowing out with just a little breeze. If anyone has a suggestion on how to alleviate this issue, I would appreciate it. Although the flame on high seems to be very small and weak, it does heat up to high temperature quickly.

I bought the TravelQ 285X three months ago and the quality of the materials is unique, it feels solid and best of all is the way the burner works. By having two separate controls, you can use the cooking area in a more specific way. For example, you can cook meat at one temperature on one side of the grill and at the same time cook fish at a completely different temperature on the other side. On the other hand, it can be completely turned off and used to keep food warm without the need for a separate grill. In addition, it comes with a free reversible griddle!!! What more could you want. It is super light weight and with the hose to adapt the large gas tank I can be camping for days without having to run to the store for gas.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
