The C1CH36 features an adjustable fuel tray, which can be used with charcoal or wood chips. The tray rests on a drawer that pulls out so you can add more charcoal or wood during cooking. This tray also has a crank assembly that allows you to control the height and heat of your charcoal. This charcoal grill also features adjustable dampers and an integrated wind guard that allow you to control air flow, allowing you to cook low and slow or crank it open for high, searing heat. This is a very well built grill, but please do not buy it if you intend to use it in an area that might be exposed to wind. This grill does a very poor job to keeping the heat as it has quite a bit of vents on the sides and the back. I am having to redesign my kitchen in order to be able to fully utilize this grill. If you can ensure there is no wind. Buy it, but for the price I dont think you should have to compromise.

Hi Roger. When the charcoal tray is at the highest setting, it is 1" from the cooking grates. At the lowest setting, it is 5" away.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
