I like the repositioning of the bowl vent from the sides to the bottom. I bought it for the transport convenience of having the lid securing bail to hold it in place in transit. I upgraded since this feature is not available on the standard Smokey Joe.

It is a compact version of the original kettle grill so you have complete control of the temperature in a compact design. This is our traveling grill for our RV.

Made a change to the 18" Jumbo Joe from decades of gas grilling. Still have the old 22" kettle from the 1980's, its the coco brown color with the one touch. Still has the original wood handles on it too. But, decided to get back to the real flavors of charcoal cooking. Just 1 to 2 people will regularly eat so, this table top idea seems to fit the plan. This portable kettle would be nice if it had the one touch that comes with a handle to open/close the bottom vents. So, I made handles for the lower and upper kettle vents avoiding to have to use tools, tong, gloves etc. to adjust them and finally close them after a cook. Now all we need is a decent cover, which Weber doesn't sell for this Jumbo Joe. I may just end up at the upholstry shop and have them make one out of decent canvas with weights around the lower seam to keep the wind from blowing it away. Colors would be a nice thought too but black is going to be fine.

I like this little grill. Cooks great but I do wish it had a longer handle on the bottom air flow damper and a thermometer.

It's a solid grill and I really like the extra grilling area compared my old Smokey Joe. It's big enough for four or five steaks, but still portable. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of some minor top air vent issues. Either the bolt hole is too big or the bolt is too small in diameter because the vent slides around on its axis when you adjust it. Also, the sharp side of the stamped metal vent goes against the enamel paint. Unless you wet sand it or otherwise smooth those edges out they will cut right through the enamel to bare metal. Weber should take more pride in correcting such things, but they have not. Other reviewers have brought both of these issues to Weber's attention in the past, so there is no excuse.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
