Bring back into production!

Love this smoker. Bought it to replace another brand I had for 8 years, but that brand has decreased in durability. There has been an adjustment going from briquettes to chips but it has been a fun process. I wish I bought this sooner.

On the second one

Years ago I bought the18" smoke vault and enjoyed it for over a decade. I literally wore the cast iron pan that holds the wood chips out. A few things I discovered cooking with it, one soak your chips in water prior to use, dry chips directly over the heat they burn up too fast dry. Two when smoking pork try apple juice in pan instead of water, it is a taste you will notice. People go on about my pork butt's but seriously the secret is in the vault.

Caught fire during the 5th use

In the middle of the 5th use I went to check and it was on fire heading towards the propane tank. They admit it was a leak and they would replace it IF they were still making the product. Their solution send a bunch of parts and I'm to consider it safe. They will not refund or credit towards another Camp Chef Product. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

About to order my 4th one of these.

About to order my fourth one of these, because I use it all the time, and have for 15 years. The first two lasted A long time and I just broke in number three.

It would be nice to cook with this but they charged me for it and it never shipped. The backorder date came and went and no smoker on my doorstep. Disappointed.

Great Smoker. Very easy to use.

I've had the 24 inch smoke vault for 6 years now, and it's still going strong. I run it on mains gas. I did find that I had to drill larger than the recommended #51 drill when converting, otherwise I couldn't get the smoker temp over about 260F. I drilled out to 5/64, which was the next size up drill that I had. Smoker will get to 450F on high, although obviously I don't smoke at that temp. If you're smoking in the winter well below freezing it helps a lot to have that oomph in reserve too.

Love my Smoke Vault 24

Received a Camp Chef Smoke Vault 24 as a gift on fathers day a few years ago. I truly love this smoker. I've done a few things to my smoker to tighten up the Smoke leaking from the smoke, like I added a food grade,non-flammable felt seal tape to around the door and sealed up areas around the Smoke with a food safe liquid gasket sealer. My next thing is to come up with a way to get the vents(3) to close more or shut off completely to be able to refine the heat temperature better. Any ideas from Camp Chef on the vents would be greatly appreciated.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
