Excellent pellet grill, but not perfect

Overall, I have found this grill to work well, hold the temperature well and also found Coyote to be responsive when I had an issue. The grill is beautiful and all stainless steel. This was important to me as all my other grills that were not 100% stainless steel have rusted out after a few years due to the almost tropical rains and high humidity where I live. The Good: Large pull out drawers, ease of getting to & cleaning the drip pans and the built in lights. Front loading hopper is convenient. Since all components are made of high quality stainless steel, clean up is amazing easy. The Bad: There is not a quick and easy way to to remove the unused pellets from the hopper after the cook is finished. Coyote told me that I could remove the extra pellets by going into the setting menu and feeding the pellets into the firebox without the fire. This works, but it is slow and you need to closely monitor the level of the pellets in the firebox so it does not overfill. Wifi would be nice so the grill could send notifications when something is not right. (Not as important to me since I use Meater probes, which are wifi enabled.) The service: On my very first cook I was cooking some beautiful beef ribs and 6 hours into the cook, the pellets stopped feeding into the firebox. I tried troubleshooting without success. Fortunately, I was able to finish the beef ribs in the oven-and they were delicious. When I told the dealer about this issue, they immediately called Coyote (on a Saturday) and I had a Coyote rep scheduled to check out my grill mid morning Monday. The problem was a pellet jam which was cleared by the rep. Evidently the rain had ruined some pellets which became a solid clog. I now make sure I do not cook with the grill out in the rain; and vacuum the firebox and empty the hopper (due to our local humidity) after each cook in addition to cleaning all the components. No further issues.

Awesome grill and smoker

This grill is built like a tank, very solid. Front loading pellet reservoir is very functional compared to others on the market. Storage drawers are very well constructed. Swapping between smoker and grill is very easy making a reverse seat simple to accomplish. All the food I have cooked so far has come out amazing. Highly recommend!!

So far so good

I've used this pellet grill for about 9 months. So far so good. Great heat retention due to its double walled hood and double walled fire pit design. It holds temp really well during the winter, which saves me lots of wood pellets.

The Mercedes of Wood Pellet grill

Best wood pellet grill ever. I get compliments from my wife, relatives , co-workers, and comments like "this is better beef brisket that I've ever had at any restaurant" and "that's gotta be the best ribs i've ever had". Transform yourself into a professional BBQ pitmaster. Just pop the top, turn it on, throw down fatty brisket, and let the smoke roll.

ingenuity design

I am mighty impressed. great craftsmanship and grill construction, front loading pellet drawer is the ergonomic standard. This grill also has a very easy to use touch screen. I figured out how to use it without reading the manuals. I've used it as a grill and smoker. fantastic. great heat retention of the grill. so it won't burn as much wood pellets as my old pellet grill. This grill also has 3 fans inside, most pellet grills only has 1 fan. The hopper holds tons of pellet and the racks holds tons of meat. Since buying the grill, I've smoked just about everything I could: Ribs, pork butt, salmon, brisket, sausage and more ribs.

Grill is beautiful internal components are horrible

We purchased two of these grills . The free standing and built in. The free standing grill died after first use. This is where the nightmare started. We had to deal with Coyote directly. It took them 3 months to replace the grill. The next one that was sent the eternal electronic screen died second time used half way through a smoke. Coyotes customer service wasn't great did not return phone calls when they said they would. Again beautiful stainless steel exterior is gorgeous. Major work needed on electronic components. Would never buy again.

Question:
Does this grill have WiFi? If not, are there plans to add it?

Question:
Does this grill have an option for using a rotisserie with it? Even if coyote doesn't have their own, can you mount a "universal" brand to use it?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Dale. Coyote does not make a rotisserie for this grill. You may be able to find a universal rotisserie that works with this, but there isn't really a benefit to using a rotisserie on a pellet grill, due to the nature of how it cooks.

Question:
Can I use any brand of pellets on the Coyote grill??? Traeger makes you use their pellets
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Loann! You do not have to use Coyote branded pellets with the grill. Please see page 12 of the instruction manual for more detailed pellet requirements: cdn.shocho.co/sc-specsheets/Coyote-C1P-Pellet-Grill-Manual-V1.0.pdf

Question:
I've never used a pellet grill before. I'm concerned it may create too much smoke since I would be using it in a confined area (condo balcony). Is this likely to be a problem? Also, given the digital display does it require an electric outlet?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Mark, this grill does require an electrical outlet but we don't recommend using any grill in too confined of an area as it poses a fire risk.

Asked by MarkAnswered by Hunter, BBQGuys Expert

Question:
I would like to know how long it takes this pellet grill to heat up to say 350 degrees? I've never had a pellet grill, like the ease of using a propane grill but I would not be opposed to trying something new. Also is there a lot of smoke generated by the pellet's? Please let me know the answers to my questions, as completely as you can. Thanks!
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Mark! Pellet grills heat up similar to other fuel sources, taking 10-20 minutes depending on ambient starting temperature and how high of heat you are looking for. Pellet grills do produce smoke and are widely used for smoking meats. Free Shipping on orders over $49

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.

No Restocking Fee

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.

Message to our customers: Like all retailers and manufacturers, we’re currently experiencing well-publicized supply-chain issues and steel shortages that have caused some orders to be delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences arising from this situation, and we assure you we’re making every effort to solve these problems with our vendors and logistical partners.

So, why are some orders being affected? Major ports around the world are still operating at reduced capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions — on average, container boats sit at port for about 3 weeks before being unloaded. Combine these shipping inefficiencies with a scarcity of natural resources, and virtually every industry has been crippled to some degree. Yet we acknowledge that it’s our duty to meet these challenges head-on and work toward solutions so you can enjoy more time outdoors with the people you love. We appreciate your patience as we strive to smooth out our supply chain, and we thank you for choosing us for your grilling and outdoor living needs.
