Perfect fit!
Was looking for a new high quality BBQ to upgrade our outdoor cooking. After looking online at several brands I found the Bull Steer was the exact size I was looking for. The reviews proved that the Bull products were highly rated and should do the trick! Continuing the process led me to find BBQ Guys and their product line. Clearly they understand the needs of the customer! I ultimately made 4 purchases from BBQ Guys and every order was fulfilled as advertised, shipped fast and every item arrived in perfect condition. On one order I forgot an item and in 1 phone call to a real person I was able to rectify the problem and the ordered items arrived together and as I mentioned in perfect condition! I will make BBQ Guys my primary source of all BBQ and Outdoor Cooking related purchases! Great Site, Great Service!

Expert Review

The Skinny:

  • Reputable brand name
  • Bull's entry level model
  • Simple & reliable ignition system
  • Even heat distribution
  • All stainless construction

Things To Love:

Bull's entry level grills include Lonestar Select, Outlaw, and Steer Premium models. Bull started building great grills in the nineties and have been going strong ever since! They make a well built, good cooking grill at a good price point, and they have become a popular centerpiece for many outdoor kitchens across the country.

From a durability perspective, I like the commercial grade 304 stainless steel exterior housing and cooking grids, both backed by a lifetime warranty. The hood is made from a sturdy 14 gauge 304 stainless steel, that is great for retaining heat. As for how it cooks, Bull's ReliaBULL technology offers perforated stainless steel flame tamers that help the burners spread the heat evenly to reduce hot and cold spots. Bull uses a simple, but reliable, piezo powered, flame thrower ignition system. I really like that this system doesn’t need batteries that eventually wear out and have to be replaced.

The burners on the Lonestar Select, Outlaw and Steer Premium models are different on each model. Lonestar Select uses a welded stainless burner, Outlaw uses porcelain coated cast iron and Steer Premium uses a stainless tube burner. While the Lonestar Select and Outlaw use different burners than Bull's higher end Angus, which uses cast stainless burners backed by a 20 year warranty, I like that they both offer the same number of burners (4) and BTU (60K BTU) as the Angus, so the cooking performance is formidable. I also like the internal lights that come standard on the Lonestar Select, which makes nighttime grilling much easier.

Thing To Consider:

While the Bull warranty is strong on the housing and cooking grids, the flame tamers are only backed by a 3 year warranty and the valves are only backed by a 1 year warranty. As for the burner warranty, the Lonestar Select is only 5 years, the Steer Premium is only 3 years and the Outlaw is only 2 years. You'll also want to consider that these grills lack a rear burner and rotisserie kit, so you'll lose some cooking versatility.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You want the highest quality gas grill made by Bull, a good company that's been around for a while.

Question:
I just purchased and received this grill.(Bull 69880) It has the hose connection to attach to a bottle of propane and I have an in ground tank. Did I order the correct grill. The grill I am replacing has a different type of regulator.

Answer:
Hi, Mike. You ordered the correct grill, but you'll need a bulk propane regulator. Here's one that will work with this grill: www.bbqguys.com/fire-magic/gas-grill-150000-btu-manifold-regulator-natural-gas-or-propane

When Will My Item Arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3–5 business days. If your item or order is large, it may ship via one of our third-party freight carriers, which deliver from semi trucks with lift gates. Freight delivery is much more complicated than standard parcel shipping — you must schedule a drop-off time, be present for the delivery, and move items from the curb to your residence, among other differences. Sound stressful? If you prepare in advance with our guide to freight delivery, it doesn’t have to be.

We strongly encourage reading the entire freight delivery guide, but here’s a quick snapshot of what you need to be ready for when you order a large package:

  • Your freight carrier will call you to schedule a delivery window of about 4–8 hours
  • You’re required to be physically present at the specified delivery location during the scheduled window
  • Freight shipments are carried in semi trucks, which have lift gates to assist with unloading
  • Freight deliveries are dropped off at the curb and no further — not up the driveway, not the porch, not the garage, and most definitely not the backyard — so it’s on you to transport packages to their intended location
  • For an easier time hauling items to your home or backyard, arrange for at least 2 helpers to be on standby during your delivery window
  • You must sign for the shipment to indicate that you’ve accepted the delivery

Again, we recommend reading our entire breakdown of freight delivery so you can become familiar with the process. Trust us when we say that getting caught off guard with the strict requirements of freight delivery can lead to a whole lot of headaches.

No Restocking Fee

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.

Message to our customers: Like all retailers and manufacturers, we’re currently experiencing well-publicized supply-chain issues and steel shortages that have caused some orders to be delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences arising from this situation, and we assure you we’re making every effort to solve these problems with our vendors and logistical partners.

So, why are some orders being affected? Major ports around the world are still operating at reduced capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions — on average, container boats sit at port for about 3 weeks before being unloaded. Combine these shipping inefficiencies with a scarcity of natural resources, and virtually every industry has been crippled to some degree. Yet we acknowledge that it’s our duty to meet these challenges head-on and work toward solutions so you can enjoy more time outdoors with the people you love. We appreciate your patience as we strive to smooth out our supply chain, and we thank you for choosing us for your grilling and outdoor living needs.
