Hi Ryan. The Blaze 42-inch Outdoor Hood requires a dedicated 15 amp circuit.

Question:
Can I use this exhaust fan in winter conditions, below freezing?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Mike! Great question. We did confirm with the factory that there should be no issue with the vent hood working in these conditions. The only thing that we recommend is inspecting the electrical components and fans before turning the unit on for ice build up and what not. Thanks for asking and Happy Grilling!

Asked by MikeAnswered by Aimee

Answer:
I don't know of any reason why you couldn't use the fan in cold weather.   The only thing maybe negative would be the grease solidifying at a different rate.

Answer:
I've used mine in all weather. Ray

Asked by MikeAnswered by ramonel

Answer:
As long as your vents are protected and not obstructed by snow, etc. I can't imagine why you couldn't use the hood in any climate condition.

Asked by MikeAnswered by watrygm

Answer:
I live in Florida so I have never actually tried the hood in freezing temps. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. The motors are protected inside the hood and are not exposed to the elements. I hope this helps. Carl

Question:
What amp circuit is needed for the hood
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Michael. This vent hood should be plugged into a 110V outlet that's wired to a 10 AMP breaker.

Question:
What size duct is required for this hood? Thanks
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
It's dual 8" or 10". It will require a "Y" to duct out through roof. Joe Macik Macik Builders, LLC Project Manager

Asked by PhilAnswered by joemacik

Answer:
I have mine under an out door gazebo and it requires two(2) 8" ducts

Asked by PhilAnswered by tl17g

Answer:
Two 8" pipes

Asked by PhilAnswered by pault

Answer:
There are actually two since there are two motors. They must be separate. I believe that these are 8 inches.

Asked by PhilAnswered by steven.harlow

Answer:
From memory it requires 2 separate 8" ducts ( 1 for each blower). They cannot be combined into a single duct as it will adversely effect the performance. The installation manual has precise details which also covers how many duct bends are allowed and the distance between bends. It's not complicated but does require a little planning to ensure you adhere to their requirements. I love my hood as it is very powerful. Duncan Harding

Question:
Can I use this above a pizza oven for venting under an outdoor covered area?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Sefi, this vent hood should work for a pizza oven as long as it's placed within effective range of the pizza oven chimney.

Asked by SefiAnswered by Ryan

Question:
How well does it stand up to salt air? I'm located on the Atlantic coast
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Steve. This vent hood is comprised of 304 stainless steel, which is industry standard for longevity and rust resistance. But, salt air creates a whole new environment and can still eat eat away at 304 stainless. I would recommend regular cleaning and thorough wipe downs if you wanted to use this vent hood in a coastal environment. Given proper care, it should last. But I would stress that it is not an ideal environment.

Asked by SteveAnswered by Joey

Question:
does this vent have the capability of venting through the wall rather than the ceiling
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi George! Yes, the motor in this vent can be configured to vent horizontally out the back of the hood.

Asked by GeorgeAnswered by Tiffany

Question:
Does the above Hood have to have piping to vent or can it work as is stand alone to circulate the smoke through the fan?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Patti! This Blaze 42-inch outdoor vent hood requires ducting to pass the smoke through.

Question:
Would the Trade-Wind telescoping single exhaust extention cover work with this hood? I have 12 ft ceilings and want to make sure the extension cover would match the Blaze hood
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Patrick! I cannot guarantee an exact match here since they are from different companies. The Trade-Wind exhaust cover is designed to work with Trade-Wind vent hoods.

Asked by PatrickAnswered by Tiffany

Question:
Does Blaze offer any stainless chimney-like extensions for this hood to enable to mount in an area with a 12' ceiling?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Buddy! Blaze does not offer duct covers for 12 foot ceilings.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
