Customer Reviews
This was a gift for my son. It has not yet been used.
This is my 3rd Masterbuilt smoker. I have had an electric one, which really worked great but the heating element burnt out ever 2 years. Then I had the cheapest Masterbuilt propane smoker, it did a good job but you were constantly fiddling with the temperature knob in the vain attempt to keep the temperature consistent. My new Thermo Temp smoker pretty much solved the temperature inconsistencies of my previous smoker. Once you dial it in, it pretty much stays at the temperature you set it to. Unfortunately, it has one rather large flaw, and I can't understand why Masterbuilt has not corrected it yet. The chip basket is located to far away from the burner. Unless you are running the smoker at higher temperatures 275+ you will not get a complete burn in the chip pan. You get next to zero smoke if you are running between 180-210 degrees. Marginal smoke at 225. The work around is to buy a smoke tube and load it with pellets to provide the smoke your smoker is not generating. Other than the lack of smoke, I love this smoker. Very easy clean up, consistence temperature control, (monitored by an external temperature probe/meter) If you are looking for an inexpensive propane smoker, this could be the one for you.
Upon arrival rivets were missing inside the unit and the gas gauge at the tank was broken and did not function. I don't like to not pick so I used the smoker as it was received. Immediately I noticed the smoker gas adjustment varied between uses. I use to be able to see a high temp close to 400 not I can barely break 300. Contacted customer support to see about replacing the gas element or gauge to see if that was hindering gas flow but their support is lack luster at best. For the last month I've been getting automated emails telling me they requested additional information but they have not and when I respond asking what additional info they need I'm met with silence. The smoker work pretty decent as an outdoor oven but as a smoker I will never buy this product again. The chip tray design or the fluctuating gas does not allow the chips to smoke so none of the food has smoke flavor. Save yourself the money and buy a different brand. I question purchasing this one every time I want to smoke something.
had problems getting the gas control valve to work had to use pliers to brake it free cant get it to go below 250 degrees, the owners manual tells you it may be off by 25 degrees but there is no built in thermometer, had to go buy one to put in side, the smoke pan i cant get to make smoke. i owned another smoker from them very simple thought i would upgrade what a mistake
I must be one lucky SOB. I brought mine and put it together, used it twice to cook briskets with no problem I am loving it.
Received this product a few days ago excited to try a smoker this summer. I assembled it, but during the assembly, I noticed the gas hose was crimped in 2 places and thought that was odd. When I was finished putting this smoker together, I tried to light it, but could not get it to light and never smelled any gas. I think that there is no gas getting to the burner from the crimps in the line. Good luck trying to get any help from this company.

I've had this smoker for a year and I can't stand it. I 'upgraded' the wood chip tray to a lodge cast iron skillet because the original tray was so thin and flimsy the wood would burn dirty almost immediately because it gets so hot. The thermostat is a good idea but poorly executed. I originally purchased this because I thought it was an upgrade from a pellet smoker. I sure was wrong. I'll be selling this and getting an offset.
I am absolutely thrilled on the purchase of the Masterbuilt Adventure Series 30-inch ThermoTemp Propane Smoker. I received it in excellent condition from UPS on the 7 th day after placing my order. The build was completed in 3 hours, every panel and part aligned properly. I must say there has been many negative feedback comments for Master Built smokers. All of those comments were posted during the COVID 19 planned demic. This being stated, poor workmanship was the possible outcome with dissatisfied customers. I am a seasoned 68 year young Pit Master. This is my 9th outdoor BBQ equipment in my arsenal all in use presently. I added Lavalock gasket around both doors, removed the chip pan and bracket and added a Lodge L3SMSK 6.5" Cast Iron Smoker Skillet on top of the burner shroud and functions incredibly well. I burned in the pit as written instructions for 1 hour. Next day seasoned it for 5 hours with oak chunk charcoal and apple wood chunks at 250 F.placed in a Lodge L3SMSK 6.5" Cast Iron Smoker Skillet on top of burner cover. The following day was the test of this smoker. 4.5 Lb. Prime rib roast. I placed a 1/2 size aluminum pan with hot water for steam and drip collection. Set to smoke at 225F with an.external thermometer and held this temperature 4.5 hours and pulled with internal 140 F. rested 30 minutes and dinner was ready. Mildly smoked to perfection and pleasant to our palettes. Master Built wins hands down compared to the competition. Absolutely love this smoker. I will need to figure out posting photos. The smoker took about 3.5 weeks to get here, though there was nothing on the website when ordering it (as a gift) indicating that it would be back ordered. Nevertheless we were very excited to get it and use it. We were not expecting, given the size of the box, that it would come in pieces and require 2+ hours to fully assemble. Unfortunately 3 components were also dented or bent in shipping/packaging. We are using it as is since these blemishes do not affect the functioning of the system and we already waited too long. The rack of ribs and the fish we smoked (different batches) were very tasty. Plan for some delays if you order one.
Questions & Answers
Hi Randy, thanks for asking. Yes, this should hold whatever temperature you set it to as long as you're checking the fuel and the food regularly. If you have any other questions please message us on Live Chat or call 877-743-2269 and we'll be happy to help.
Asked by Randy | Answered by HunterHi Carson, thanks for asking. While this smoker can reach up to 350 degrees, it is not designed to have a high flame. The heat should be able to reach to the top of the unit and heat meat thoroughly throughout the process of smoking.
Asked by Carson | Answered by HunterHey Buster! You should not use charcoal of any kind as the extra heat from the charcoal could damage the burner.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
