This will probably be a very last grill ever have to buy it

We have roasted a piglet two turkeys and eight ribeyes multiple racks of ribs and even cooked a pizza on it it's just a fantastic product took a little while to get used to the heat distribution it's a lot different than your standard grills that you buy at some of the big box stores after some practice and realizing how do use it it's a great product wouldn't give it up for anything

I would buy this again and again

Great product, heavy metal. Great for reducing flames with grease flare ups. I'm happy with my purchase. Will buy again if needed.

Lion and Bull Grills

These ceramic flame tamers are awesome, turns your grill into a precision device, allowing both super hot as well as low and slow over direct heat. These are designed for Lion, and fit like a charm. I have a Bull Grill at my lake house and after upgrading my Lion at home, just had to upgrade the Bull too. It's a little more work on the Bull, but worth the effort. You'll need to unscrew the top portion of the grill, so that it can "hinge" with the bottom (11 screws). Leave the electrical and gas lines in place. Take the flame tamers apart, removing all cylinders and the snap in place side rail. Remove the original Bull flame tamers. Set the bases of the new flamer tamers beneath protruding pegs of the Bull. You'll now see why you need to hinge open the top so you can fit them in. Put the ceramic cylinders back, leaving off one on either end as the Bull pegs protrude. Snap the side rails back in place. Reseat the top of the grill and put back all 11 screws. You're ready to go!

Good but don't last long

They do work but the stainless steel that is used is fairly thin and wears out after a couple of years. Once it does you get hot spots over the cooking area. Pricey for how long they last. I can see why the warranty on these is pretty short compared to the rest of the grill

Worst investment I made

I bought a Lion grill and upgraded to two of these bases on the BBQ Guys expert reviews/suggestions. I have had the grill well over a year and, although the Lion grill is beautiful, I have not been overjoyed as I had hoped. I'm starting to figure out why, and am hopeful maybe I can finally start enjoying my grill. I bought two of these ceramic flame tamers and put them on the left side of the grill. I left the original tamers on the right side. I have a small family so I have mostly used the left side with the ceramic tamers. No matter the heat setting, it seems most often, particularly my burgers, steaks and salmon, get blackened/charred, and not in a good way, when cooking over the ceramic tamers. I have tried everything to solve the problem - adjusting the heat, oiling the grates, cooking with lid closed, cooking with the lid open, never leaving the grill for more than ten seconds. No matter what, it always seemed that flames burst up and charred my food. Only recently did I try to cook the same items on the other side with the included tamers. WOW, what a difference! I just cooked fatty burgers last night and no char, just nice grill lines. The ceramic tamers were a waste of money and almost made me hate my Lion. Thankfully, I have learned where the blame lies.

Junk!!! Don't waste your money!!!

I rarely leave reviews on products unless they are really awesome but I've been meaning to leave this review for a year now and just now mad enough to do it. I'm not a huge gas grill fan as it is because of the known issue of gas grills flaming up. I bought the Lion Grill with the flame arrestors due to the 5 Star Rating. What a mistake.

Questions & Answers (1)

Question:
How is the ceramic flame tamer cleaned?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi David. The easiest way to clean these is to flip them over and turn the grill on high. This should burn off most of the residue, then you can flip them again and brush them off with a stiff (but not abrasive) brush and water if necessary.

Asked by DavidAnswered by Joey, BBQGuys Expert

Answer:
I only had them about 2 years before selling the house where the built in grill was located. They worked great. They built up some black discoloration but never enough to need cleaning during that time.

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.

30-Day Returns

Return all new, unused, and unassembled items in their original packaging, and we'll give you a full refund minus the cost of the original AND return shipping.

No Restocking Fee

Most companies charge a restocking fee. We just don't do business that way.

Message to our customers: Like all retailers and manufacturers, we’re currently experiencing well-publicized supply-chain issues and steel shortages that have caused some orders to be delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences arising from this situation, and we assure you we’re making every effort to solve these problems with our vendors and logistical partners.

So, why are some orders being affected? Major ports around the world are still operating at reduced capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions — on average, container boats sit at port for about 3 weeks before being unloaded. Combine these shipping inefficiencies with a scarcity of natural resources, and virtually every industry has been crippled to some degree. Yet we acknowledge that it’s our duty to meet these challenges head-on and work toward solutions so you can enjoy more time outdoors with the people you love. We appreciate your patience as we strive to smooth out our supply chain, and we thank you for choosing us for your grilling and outdoor living needs.
