I would buy this Lion Grill again!
I use to have a weber before building an outdoor kitchen. I decided to do a built in and couldn't decide between several different grills. When I saw Lion had the extras for free, I decided to go with this one. I am so glad I did. I love this grill. It's heavy duty, holds the temp well. Cooks very good. I like how you can turn down the burners to get a lower setting. The lights on the inside are a great feature too. I believe its the best bang for your buck with what you get and the extras.
  • Great grill.

Superb Grill
After doing more comparison shopping for grills than I care to admit, I decide n the LION 75000. The moment it arrived I knew that I made the right choice. Everything about the grill is heavy-duty and excellent quality. I purchased the propane model with a cart and it was very easy to put together. In fact, the cart comes welded together out of the box, all you have to do is install the handles. I'm still learning how to use this grill, but if you are thinking of buying this grill do not hesitate; It is worth every penny, particularly when you get all the extras (cover, rotisserie, griddle, smokebox). I also purchase the flavor bars and charcoal box which allows me to create a charcoal flavor. Seriously, this grill has a lot to offer for the money.

I can't say enough good things about the Lion grill!
Just received my 32" Lion grill. First the size is amazing. Although it's a four burner because it uses a wide cast stainless burner it's more like eight. I had a built-in DCS for years which was my favorite and always regretted selling it with my last home. I feel the Lion is as good as if not better than the DCS at a fraction of the price. Case in point - the cast stainless burners are awesome. The kicker was that I could add the ceramic tubular drip tray which was one of my favorite features on the DCS. However with the Lion I can mix and match so I have two ceramic trays (veggies and chicken) and two regular drip caps for my steaks. I would prefer cast iron grates but the stainless grates on the Lion are really solid and leave good grill marks. The Lion is extremely well built. Very obvious when you lift the lid! Also came with a really nice looking rotisserie that I will try tonight with a whole chicken. It also has an option for a charcoal tray so you can actually use briquettes for that charcoal smell. I ordered the single side burner which is a really nice design and also a great value for the money.. What else? It has two lights under the hood which make the difference when doing night time cooking. The only thing I would like to see is for the Lion to use either battery or electric (already has a power supply for the lights) igniters. It uses a static igniter which works ok but I feel a powered igniter is more reliable. I found I have to use a lighter for the rotisserie even though I can see a spark. All in all though this is a great grill and you would not regret ordering it. P.S. The igniter on the side burner got broken taking it out of the packaging. BBQ Guys customer service has been great getting me a replacement.

The Skinny:

  • Built solid
  • Easy to use with a low learning curve
  • Affordably priced; great lifetime warranty

Things We Love:

If you're looking for an affordably priced premium grill, then Lion Premium Grills should definitely be considered. Lion grills are solidly built using 304 stainless steel and the hood is double-lined for extra durability. The grill comes with cast stainless burners that radiate heat well and tend to last longer than other burners.

One thing I like about Lion is that it's simple to use and has a lower learning curve than many other premium grills. The control panel is uncluttered and easy to operate, and the grill heats up quickly to get you grilling in no time.

Love the wonderful, smoky flavor of cooking with charcoal? As an upgrade option, you can add a charcoal tray to your Lion, giving you cooking versatility. The tray sits above the burners and the charcoal is lit by the burners, with no lighter fluid needed.

Lion also gives you the option to upgrade the included steel flame tamers to a ceramic rod flame taming system, which I highly recommend. The ceramic rods cover more grilling area and help to better distribute the heat across the entire grilling surface.

As a final upgrade option, you can purchase the interchangeable searing burner which can replace any of the standard burners. This gives you the option to customize your grills burner configuration any time you grill by simply swapping out the burners.

Lion stands behind their grills with a great lifetime warranty, which covers the burners, cooking grids, and stainless steel frame and housing.

To top it off, Lion is currently including a grilling gourmet package when you buy their grill. The package gives you cool extras like a rotisserie kit, grill cover, smoker box, griddle, and griddle plate remover with bottle opener. Who doesn't love lagniappe (a little something extra)?

Things to Consider:

While Lion offers a lot of upgrade options to consider, they are not included with the grill, which will add to the final price tag.

One upgrade I highly think you should consider is the grills flame tamers. By upgrading to the ceramic flame tamers, you will see a huge difference in the grills performance with a more evenly heated grill surface and minimal flare ups while cooking.

You'll Like This Grill If:

You're seeking an affordably priced premium grill with accessories and options that will thrill any griller.

Question:
I just purchased this grill with a side burner. Does it come with a propane hose ? Can the same propane hose connect to the side burner ?

Question:
What is the hood clearance needed behind the grill to fully open the hood? Is that included in the 24 1/4?
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Allison! The clearance is not included 24 1/4 inches. The clearance needed for the Lion grill is 3 inches minimum. This grill also needs 21 inches from combustibles materials on the sides and back.

Question:
I am building an enclosure of non-combustible materials (metal studs, cement board, granite countertop, approximately 6' x 3' footprint) - two questions: 1. The pictures in the instructions all show a boxed-in enclosure that the grill sits in - I assume the grill is supported by the side and back flanges and doesn't actually need a box to sit in? I won't be storing anything below it. I would like to simply support the edge of the countertop with steel studs and allow the grill to "hang" into the structure. Please confirm this installation. 2. Venting (natural gas, enclosed structure for grill and side burner) - do I need a rear vent behind the grill (as pictured in the installation instructions) if the grill isn't actually boxed in (see above)? What venting do I need? Top and bottom vent on end of cabinet (as pictured)? Thanks!
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Jack, thanks for asking. You will need to cut out the bottom of the enclosure where you plan to place your grill so gas lines can be accessed for maintenance, and yes, the flanges will help with supporting the grill. As for vents with Natural Gas, you'll need all of your vents to be as high as possible on the enclosure since Natural Gas rises, and you'll need a vent every 2 to 3 feet around the grill. We also recommend referring to a licensed professional for handling the enclosure and grill construction.

I had a blaze grill at my old house before I moved and really liked the pizza stone accessory Blaze had. My question is would the Blaze pizza stone fit in the Lion grill?

Hi David! Great news! The Blaze pizza stone can be used on your Lion grill but will sit on top of the cooking grids instead of replacing the grids. Hope this helps!

Question:
Is a jacket recommended or required with this grill? What are the long term affects on cabinets and counter tops if no jacket is used? Thanks.
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi Jay. An insulating jacket should always be used when installing a grill in an outdoor kitchen island constructed using any combustible materials. Installation without an insulating jacket can create a dangerous fire hazard, even if the grill does not come in direct contact with combustible materials. For example, even with heat-resistant paneling between a grill and an island's framework, high temperatures can transfer through mounting hardware/screws in the paneling and ignite wooden structural components.

Question:
My builder is creating an outdoor kitchen and we will be using propane - he wanted me to ensure this grill will come with the regulator that can be "hard piped" in. The accessory hose/regulator conversion kit I saw online looked like a flexible house that he said wasn't correct. Hope that makes sense. Thanks!!
Was This Helpful?
Answer:
Hi, Lisa! You would need the conversion kit, as well as a bulk propane regulator. The conversion kit includes the proper valves and orifices you will need to safely run propane in your grill. You would then swap the conversion kit's regulator with the bulk propane regulator. Here's the conversion kit you would need for this grill: www.bbqguys.com/lion-premium-grills/conversion-kit-for-32-inch-4-burner-gas-grills-natural-gas-to-propane Here's a bulk propane regulator you can use in place of the regulator included with the conversion kit: www.bbqguys.com/fire-magic/gas-grill-150000-btu-manifold-regulator-natural-gas-or-propane

When Will My Item Arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3–5 business days. If your item or order is large, it may ship via one of our third-party freight carriers, which deliver from semi trucks with lift gates. Freight delivery is much more complicated than standard parcel shipping — you must schedule a drop-off time, be present for the delivery, and move items from the curb to your residence, among other differences. Sound stressful? If you prepare in advance with our guide to freight delivery, it doesn’t have to be.

We strongly encourage reading the entire freight delivery guide, but here’s a quick snapshot of what you need to be ready for when you order a large package:

  • Your freight carrier will call you to schedule a delivery window of about 4–8 hours
  • You’re required to be physically present at the specified delivery location during the scheduled window
  • Freight shipments are carried in semi trucks, which have lift gates to assist with unloading
  • Freight deliveries are dropped off at the curb and no further — not up the driveway, not the porch, not the garage, and most definitely not the backyard — so it’s on you to transport packages to their intended location
  • For an easier time hauling items to your home or backyard, arrange for at least 2 helpers to be on standby during your delivery window
  • You must sign for the shipment to indicate that you’ve accepted the delivery

Again, we recommend reading our entire breakdown of freight delivery so you can become familiar with the process. Trust us when we say that getting caught off guard with the strict requirements of freight delivery can lead to a whole lot of headaches.

Message to our customers: Like all retailers and manufacturers, we’re currently experiencing well-publicized supply-chain issues and steel shortages that have caused some orders to be delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences arising from this situation, and we assure you we’re making every effort to solve these problems with our vendors and logistical partners.

So, why are some orders being affected? Major ports around the world are still operating at reduced capacity because of COVID-19 restrictions — on average, container boats sit at port for about 3 weeks before being unloaded. Combine these shipping inefficiencies with a scarcity of natural resources, and virtually every industry has been crippled to some degree. Yet we acknowledge that it’s our duty to meet these challenges head-on and work toward solutions so you can enjoy more time outdoors with the people you love.
