It is a great well made , engineered product. If you love grilling on charcoal and slow temp bbq cooking, this is the best ceramic grill you should have. You need some patience to become a master in grilling/bbq on it. However once you get a hang of it, you will gain fame of a master griller/bbq. Also it has a great following and good social media community (youtube, FB) to learn form peers and experts. Its been 3 years since I got it when I got my backyard kitchen done. I use it extensively to smoke ribs, rotisserie chicken, tandoori kebabs, salmon and steaks. My family swears never to eat any grilled meat from a restaurant anymore, because they got used to the best grilled/bbq food I cook for them on this grill.

The team here at BBQ Guys is amazing. They were very helpful and most of all, patient for a first time Kamado Joe owner. I've cooked ribs, chicken, pork shoulder, and even pizzas on it so far. It is an amazing grill and I look forward to the weekend every week for another cook.

big joe classic --just the right size for 2-6 people Great grill especially for someone who does not like to babysit it. You must buy the Ikanmand (fan) makes a great Joe better holding the right temp When I put on the Boston butts @ 6 AM it was 40 outside by time noon hits it will be 70 --the IKamand let me go off and do other things and keep track with my phone Rotisserie is my next purchase Save on Lump Charcoal as when you are finished cooking -- close all the doors and it snuffs out the charcoal I use Coconut Charcoal for steaks --higher heat --better sear

I like several others commenting here, spent some considerable time and effort researching before making this investment. BGE has certainly marketed itself as the deFacto Leader in this space, don't buy in. The KJ and specifically the Big Joe is everything I was looking for in a ceramic kamado grill/smoker. It holds temps well, even for 10hr cooks, the surface space is fantastic and allows for voluminous amounts of food to be cooked at once. I did purchase an additional grate to stack on top, thereby expanding my capacity further for really big gatherings. It seasoned easily, turns shoe leather into scrumptious morsels that your guest will fight over for a second bite. I'd invite you over to try mine, but I think you should really get your own.

Had an Egg but it was destroyed in a wind storm. Was going to buy another Green Egg but saw the online comments about the Kamado Joe and decided to buy it instead. I bought the big one because the Egg wasn't really big enough when I had more than 8 guests dining. I really needed the extra cooking surface. The Kamado is better built and has more features. It is superior in virtually every way. The only warning I have for buyers is that the Big Joe takes a lot of charcoal to get the hot temps needed for steaks and pizza. A LOT.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
