Napoleon Backyard Set

I recently upgraded to a larger, newer Napoleon grill, provided to me free for testing purposes. So far, my first impressions have been extremely positive. Design and Build Quality I switched from stainless steel to a matte black finish, and I must say, I prefer it. It looks sleek and modern while also seeming more durable. The overall construction of the grill feels stronger, with thicker metal that gives a more premium feel. Grilling Features One of the standout features for me is the larger sear station. As someone who reverse sears almost everything I grill, this upgrade has been fantastic. Additionally, the redesigned warming rack is a game-changer. It's now a stainless steel plate with cutouts, perfect for grilling a variety of foods, including jalapeño poppers, stuffed mushrooms, upside-down chicken legs, or just using it as a traditional bread-warming rack. Lighting and Controls The backlit knobs are a great addition. They stay illuminated when the burners are in use, which is a handy feature for nighttime grilling. It ensures I can easily see and confirm that the grill is properly shut down once I'm done. Heat Control The heat control on this model is exceptional. I can easily ramp up the temperature to 800°F with all three burners or bring it down to 110°F with just one burner, perfect for reverse searing. Rotisserie Burner I haven't had the chance to try the rear infrared burner for the rotisserie yet, but I've already placed an order for one. I'm excited to test it out in the near future. Assembly The only downside I encountered was the assembly process. It wasn't as straightforward as I expected, and the instructions could definitely benefit from more detailed explanations in some areas, rather than just relying on pictures. Final Thoughts Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the Phantom Rouge Pro-S 425 RSIB and would rate it a solid 10/10. First of all, the grill arrived on a pallet, extremely well packed. Assembly is involved, but not difficult. Make sure you have a nut driver, it will save you a significant amount of time. One suggestion on assembly, there is a bottle opener that affixes to the front of the external burner assembly. The directions say to install it last. Install it before you put the burner assembly on the grill. Otherwise, you have to contort under the grill to get to where the wingnuts go on. Its much easier if you can manipulate it without the burner attached. Another point on install, there is a 2-door version and a 1-door version of the grill. I have the 1-door version. Some of the directions for install apply only to the 2-door version, and since the installation directions are pictures only, it is easy to get confused and look for parts that don't exist with the 1-door version. Look at each step carefully. The build quality of the grill is high. The stainless steel and metal components are heavy gauge, which lets the grill hold heat very well. All components are professional grade - down to the type of casters used. The burners are stout and the grill turned on and lit itself with no problems whatsoever. Getting to about 500 degrees takes about 3-4 minutes from a cold start, which is quite acceptable. As I said, the grill holds heat well, and the temperature variations across the grill surface seemed to be negligible. Searing meat was no problem, and cooking slow was no problem. One modification I made was to add some ceramic brickets on the stainless steel drip pan. I know a lot of people like a clean burn in a gas grill, but I prefer a little smoke. I put the brickets in the drip pan below the burners where they could catch droppings from the meat. They get hot enough to smoke, and add some character to the meat IMHO. There is a sear zone on the top rack. I lit this little burner not quite knowing what it was and turned my corn into blackened corn. Its a pretty neat feature that I am sure I will find a number of uses for now that I know what it does. Overall I am very impressed with the grill and its performance. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to purchase a substantial grill.

I really like the color of this grill. I have no glare or heat from the sun to my face. This grill has really good control of the heat! This is not a super hot grill. Some grills are way too hot even on low temperatures. The S shaped grill pattern is a great idea! It works really well. Helping the cook to remove food easier. Food like asparagus, zucchini, etc. The Sizzle grill on the side is amazing! The Sizzle grill gets hot quickly after its turned on. Great for steaks! I really like the heat control knobs! The heat control knob knobs glow red when on. So you can see if you have left the grill on. I think that you can not go wrong with this grill. I am impressed.

THIS IS A WORK HORSE OF A GRILL. PRICED RIGHT AND DURABLE, EASY TO CLEAN. COOKING IS VERY EVEN, NO OVER HEATING AND CREATING FIRES.

The PRO-S 425 has both rear and side burners, making it easy to roast with the rear burner and cook sauces with the side burner. Try using the Napoleon smoking box with this unit for added depth of flavor with your roast. You can do a lot with this grill.
