Broil King 2 Pc Cast Iron Cooking Grids for Signet Series - 11228

My grill rusted almost immediately. I season after every use and still…. If I had seen these grill reviews when buying a BBQ - I would have gone with a different company. To bad the stainless steel replacements are twice the price. When will Broil King source new grills/iron?

I highly recommend not purchasing these unless you want to replace them every year. They very quickly rust with their covering peeling off.

I bought the Broil King Signet a year and a half ago. I really love the BBQ but unfortunately the cast iron grills are not very good. They have already rusted completely. I have tried to maintain them but unfortunately it has not worked. Disappointed as otherwise the BBQ would be great.

These cast iron grill grates are the worst. I cook year round keep grill dry and out of the weather plus keep gates oiled. They rust,crack,Crack, meat sticks to grates

2 years and these grids are unusable. I am looking to get a better set of grids. Any recommendations or discounts would improve my review.

I have experienced pretty the same in regards to the quality of these grates, poor. They have flaked apart due to rust. Grill is used all year round. I seasoned grates from the start with grape seed oil and use this oil exclusively with each use. Overall the whole grill (Signet 90) has been a disappointment. From day 1 the burners do not light evenly nor distribute even heat. Grill has never gotten hot enough to truly sear meat or fish. Grates really can't be gotten hot enough so fish like halibut won't stick. Swordfish is ok as it is much denser. This is with clean and seasoned grates. I worked commercial kitchens for 20 years so I have a bit of experience under my belt with this. Maybe I expected too much from a non commercial grade grill at this price point. I really don't think this grill puts out the advertised 12500 btu. It has never been able to pass the 2 second palm test, not even from new.

I bought the Broil King Signet in May 2018 for Father's Day. Overall the grill has been great. I bought the Broil King because I did a lot of research on which grills were quality and held up and Broil King was at the top. However the cast iron grids have been really hard to maintain. They constantly rust and recently a couple of the bars broke. I will replace these grids because I like the grill but there must be a problem with the cast iron they are using. This seems to be a recurring problem with the grill.

I have owned my grill for 2 years and the grates are rusting. I find it strange that a grill, to be used outdoors, which is subject to natural humidity of the outdoors as well as rainy conditions, utilizes cast iron which can NOT be subject to wet weather. I keep my grill covered 100% of the time when not in use and remove the grates during the winter months. Even doing this and seasoning it did not prevent the grates from rusting. Your maintenance video for the seasoning of the grates even mentions "never air dry the grates". Well, what do you think they do after inclement weather outside? No grill owner is going out to towel dry their grates after inclement weather. Poorly thought out design.

Similar issue as other reviewers. My 5 year old Crown grills are rusting, cracking and falling to bits. I absolutely love the rest of the BBQ, just this one issue drives me nuts and to see that the design or material hasn't been changed to resolve is frustrating.
