i received this as a gift.. first time use lastt weekend. when attaching the propane cylinder, as i was installing the propane cylinder, it started spraying propane on my hand and i attached the cylinder as fast as i could.. ( i have been using cylinders for years)..i got burned by the propane that sprayed out. when that tank emptied, i asked someone else to attach a new cylinder. same thing happened. trying to decide whether to just send it to the dump or find someone who wants to take a chance with it.

Used it camping last week for the first time. It was EASY to prep the griddle. Then, I had a great time grilling chicken, sliced potatoes, and mixed vegetables! Did them all at the same time… Oh, did I mention that the griddle cleaned quickly and easily? When we were finished, I just packed it up and away we drove. I cook for all of our camping trips and LOVE this griddle!!!

We cross-shopped among different camp stoves, some with add-on griddle options, but ultimately ended up with the 17" Blackstone. We like that (at least with the hoodless model) you can flip the griddle over for more compact storage in the optional carry bag, and Blackstone offers an RV hookup hose. The Piezo spark ignitor only required a click or two, and the heat is reasonably even with only the edges of the griddle being cooler. Initial seasoning was easy with the Blackstone seasoning/conditioning paste (they should include a sample packet with every griddle!). I kind of wish the gas knob was recessed. Every inch of space is valuable on a small RV, and that knob sticks out unnecessarily (and is disconcertingly wobbly, at that). I may stick some foam blocks in the case to protect the knob during storage/transport. Oh, no worries on temperature, this griddle got up to 600 degrees while I was seasoning it. More than enough.

I was looking forward to using this on our first trip this season, but ended up being disappointed in the product. *It doesn't heat evenly so you have to repeatedly rotate food around the grill. *Biggest regret - This model doesn't come with a hood, which was ok because we figured we would buy the hood attachment later on if we felt we needed to. Well, the back grease drip model isn't compatible with a hood, so we are out of luck. The hood, I realize, is indeed necessary, so now we are stuck with a griddle that can't do a number of things - steam, retain heat, etc. Other than these two issues, it is a fair model. It cooks decent burgers, eggs and pancakes. We bought the 17 inch because of the size for two ppl. I regret not researching more regarding the hood. My advice - be sure to purchase the model with the hood/compatible model, regardless of the size.

I was given this grill for a Christmas present by my sister. It had no lid. She said that it was the last in the store and that I could get one later. Months later, I finally had some extra funds to get a lid. I tried an aftermarket lid. No Joy. So I turned to Blackstone. After 45 minutes of awful conversation via virtual chat, I find out that they don'e make a lid. The employee even assumed my gender and snidely said, "I don't know. I am not an engineer" as we troubleshot my concerns and frustrations. I was clearly not impressed with their support. They should clearly state when purchasing that this model will not had a lid to order. What I can't figure out is why they can't send one as the other 17" models have less and the cook grill is made the same. I am not an engineer either. Plus my cook top was not made to perfection. Well, thank you, Traci, for your kindness and understanding.

Ive had my blackstone 17 " grill for a few yrs now and love it It's perfect for 2 to 4 persons for any meal I've cooked everything on it from eggs n bacon to steak and shrimp cooks fast and evenly ! Everything is better on a blackstone!

ordered the 22 inch griddle, wish I had ordered the 17" so it can fit into camp trailer storage compartment...... Cant tell from photo if the 17 has a cover like the sold out adventure series...... I would like the whole thing in stainless but I only can find the front cover where the knobs are to be stainless......

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
