Pit Boss 24-Inch Ceramic Kamado Grill - 71240

This is a real set it and leavit smoker. I can set it for low and slow and come back 10 hours later abd still within range. When i bought my pit boss it was missing the top damper. I emailed pit boss and they sent it out right away. Great customer service.

I love my grill so far. It needs a little sealant on the top and bottom vent to prevent air flow. My only complaint is the side tables. Within a few months of use, they have started to mildew and I can't find anything that will clean them. The side of the one table has started to delaminate as well. I've kept it protected from the elements, so I was surprised to find this. Outside of that, I've been satisfied with the performance of the grill itself.

I have a lot of experience with this type of grill having owned other brand of grills like this. The only issue I have with this one is the fire will not shut down when the air vents are closed. It seems that the bottom vent is not tight enough and leeks air. Had to tighten the screw on the top vent to make it seal better. I am going to take if off the bottom vent and see if I cam make it tighter. Air control is important when cooking at low temperatures. Other than that this is a great smoker. A little tweaking and I will be good to go.

I have had this grill for about a year. The first thermostat didn't work. They did send me another one. I am an experience griller, having a trailerable grill that I do large amounts of meat on. When doing three or less racks of ribs I use the Pitt Boss. I couldn't figure out why everything was cooking so quickly. I put an accurate oven thermometer in the grill. The new thermometer was 25 degrees off from the calibrated oven thermometer. I ordered a ceramic heat deflector which is absolutely essential in smoking. It was not engineered correctly and one of the legs did not fit in one of the slots. Not only that, the heat deflector does cover enough area and restricts your cooking area. . I went to walmart and got a ceramic pizza stone and broke it up to use the pieces to cover the gaps that the deflector missed. The top heat regulator is not as user friendly as other brands. You get what you pay for. I am not sorry I bought it. I have found ways to adjusts for it's short comings. It is a good bargain.

Love the Pit Boss with the exception of the bottom air vent. It is a loose fit even when adjusted and seems to leak a bit of air. This makes it difficult to get a low steady smoking temperature and slows down the snuffing out process of the coals when finished. Minor detail when you look at the price vs BGE. Especially when you consider it comes with a cover and second rack for extra cooking space!!

I've owned for just over a year and am very pleased with the grill and its features. Large cooking surface offers lots of nice options for cooking. A couple neighbors have also picked up this grill and are pleased as well.

Bought this product about a year ago had a crack in the firebox pitboss sent me another they back there product many many cooks done

Have had the Pit Boss for close to a year now and have no complaints at all. Fantastic value and quality. Cooks great! Have done briskets, pork butts, steaks, chicken, fish, burgers....All around great grill.

I bought this grill from Costco 8 months ago. The thermometer quite working after the first month. 2 months after that the cast grate at the bottom cracked. 6 months in I was cleaning the unit and discovered that the cast grate had cracked more, and the ceramic insert had cracked. Throughout this time I was constantly having to tighten the screws that held the lid on. If I didn't I would hear the acorn nuts fall and have to get down and find them. Fortunately this was purchased at Costco, so back it went with no issue at all. Thank you Costco.

I have had the unit for a little over a year, and am still learning how to best use it. When I can find the thermostatically controlled blower that fits this unit, it will be a complete cooker.
