Customer Reviews
I love my pit boss! I'm becoming a master at slow cooking and temperature management in short order.
I've had this grill for about 9 months and I couldn't be happier with it. It has exceeded my expectations. The handle and the side trays are sturdy. The finish on the grill has remained as attractive as the day i bought it. I keep the cover on it when not in use. One very small issue has been the side trays and handle are discolored - turning black. It looks like mildew perhaps. It doesn't affect the operation of the grill.

I loved this unit. Great temperature contol. Great capacity. Great bbq. Unfortunately, it crcaked all around the unit after about 5 months of use. I don't know if my unit was defective, or if it was an overall design flaw, but I was very disappointed. I would have given 4 stars if it hadn't broke.
Having used several Kamado smokers, there are definitely pros and cons. Pros: great size, love the two grills that come with it. Overall good construction. Great price (at least when I bought it.) Cons: the most annoying thing was airflow control. The bottom slider isn't tight so it seems to leak air. Had to wedge a napkin in to snuff the fire. The top leaked a bit also. Doesn't come with heat deflector. This may have been bad luck, but my firebox cracked 8 months after I bought it. Fortunately there it was under warranty. Bottom line, great smoker, but there are better ones.
Have had this for about 9 months and am so glad I bought it. It takes a few trials to master maintaining the desired temperature but once you figure it out you will never go back to a regular grill.
I bought this as a replacement for a Green Egg that got broken due to a tree and a storm. The Pit Boss holds a constant temp for Long and low smoking. I will never pay $1700 for a Green Egg ever again. Our first unit arrived broken due to careless shippers. Pitboss sent us a second unit plus gave us a $50 gift card for our troubles. Awesome customer service.
Bought the Pit Boss K22 Grill 2 years ago. 100% satisfied. The steaks are so good on a charcoal grill. Also bought a heat deflector for cooking ribs
I received this for Christmas 2015. Definitely get the cookbook. It takes some getting use to . It isn't like ordinary grills. Makes for a great smoke flavor.
I got this a year ago as a present. It took some practice to get used to. But since I got it I haven't use my gas grill once. You have to use the right charcoal. (lump) Somehow this grill is very economic once the food is cook you close the vents and is a nice chunks of charcoal left to start the next fire. I have use it a lot and I use two bags of charcoal so far. Cheaper than my gas grill. The great advantage is that the food has this amazing flavor you can smoke, grill, bake. This grill is a great value and does as great job as the green egg for a lot less.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
