30 seconds each side really means 30 seconds each side. Incredible searing, and the best accessory to the grill.
Grill functions flawlessly. Wifi has never made my life so easy to smoke for an entire day and not babysit the grill. Some probes started malfunctioning, and they had new probes being sent my way 12 hours after submitting a warranty claim.

Grill can BARELY get to 450 after heating for an hour. If you open the lid to put food on, it drops DRAMATICCALY and struggles to regain heat, or never does before food is to temp, but still white (Chicken). I really wanted to love this, but if this is it, it has to go back and I will get another Traeger which the Camp-chef replaced. Sucks!
I have only had this grill for a week or so but am very happy with it so far cooks great has awesome temp control and sears really well.

Great smoker!!!
I have had my 36" Woodwind for a couple of months now and I am impressed!!!!! I have cooked so many things on it now. I love the flat griddle on the sidekick. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pizza oven. The app control works great. Being able to move the fire box to get the grill hotter is nice. The ash dump works great. This grill has every feature you could ask for in a pellet smoker. We have used it for breakfast lunch and dinner. If you are on the fence about this grill, do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed!!!!! Best grill I have ever purchased.
I upgraded to this from an older 24" woodwind that I enjoyed for a long time. While this larger model is capable of turning out good BBQ, there were some significant QC issues you should all be aware of. 1. The temperature at the grate has a LOT more variation from left-to-right than the 24" model. This is partly because the firebox and temp probe are place toward the left side, rather than in the center. So the right side of the grill is way colder than the temperature you have set. I have to set the temp ~40 degrees higher for the right side of the grill to be usable. 2. Camp chef has not included a way to adjust the grill temp offset from the probe, which is IMO an essential feature. I could correct for issue #1 if there was a way to adjust the offset. They need to include this in a software update to the controller. It isn't hard. 3. The firebox and the grill body ship separately and there is a LOT of assembly required, and it is not very user friendly. Camp chef should include alignment pins/tabs that make this assembly easier. As it is now, you have to tip the very heavy grill over several times. 4. All of the included screws were made of very soft material and the heads stripped extremely easily. This is a stupid place to cut back on quality and they should be using quality stainless screws. If I every have to replace a part, I may be out of luck since many of the screws are now stripped and will be hard to remove. 5. They included either the wrong bolts or wrong legs with my grill, and the bottom shelf could not be attached. I emailed them and they have yet to respond. I had to buy my own bolts at the hardware store to attach the shelf. 6. By this point, they should be including a gasket for the grill lid. Very leaky and another silly thing to cut corners on. In all, this is still a good grill and a good value, and it can produce some very tasty results. But think twice about this larger model unless you are sure you need a LOT of grill space. For most, the 24" woodwind model is far easier to assemble, big enough, and needs less fuss and less learning out of the box. My #1 request for camp chef would be to include a temperature offset function in the controller settings so that users can calibrate the grill to their desired cooking position. This is an essential feature. My #2 request is to stop cheaping out on the bolts. Include quality stainless steel fasteners and you will have happier customers and less returns. That has to be worth the 50 cents you saved on these cheap bolts. #3 if you are going to make customers assemble the firebox into the unit, include some tabs so that this can be done with the grill in the standing position by a single person.

This grill is quite an upgrade. It was not hard to put together and I was able to do most of it by myself with my 6 year old handing me bolts. The free hat was nice. The hardest part was getting it to update the firmware and work on wifi. That took an Ipad as my Android wouldn't do it. After that update, everything works perfectly. I do notice the smoke isn't strong, but that is pellet grills in general. Get a pellet tube and put it in the chamber for more smoke. The reason I bought this grill is the ease of cleanup. Pull a lever and the pot is clean. I have used it twice so far and it is working great.
The packaging is not what I expected seeing how much the grill cost. I have several dents in the drum barrel that does not look good to be brand new.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
