Camp Chef Sidekick Flat Top 14-Inch Propane Side Griddle - PG14

O bought this because the reviews appear to be good and I needed something bigger than the treager I have. Bad decision I have never cooked on a pellet grill that has hot spots like this one does I have less cooking space on this one than my little one if I don't want to babysit the thing non stop. Worst buy I've made in a long time.

I bought this in July of 2019. The only time the meal was not smoked perfectly was because of user error. Let me say, the seasons don't matter. It does a fabulous job in the summer and the winter. I recommend the blanket for the grill and ski attire for you when it is really cold. In January 2020, we had wind gusts up to 60 MPH. Unfortunately, the wind pushed my grill down the stairs of my deck. We found the grill upside down against the railing and badly dented. My son and I got it back on the deck. I repaired the outlet that was torn out the wall. I plugged it back in and it fired right up, heated up, and maintained temperature. I do not know how many times in flipped down the stairs. The deck is 10 feet tall. The only part that suffered too much damage to use was the sear box. Other than the unsightly dents and a broken sear box it is fine. It is built to last. I am thankful for the craftsmanship. The current photos are evidence of the quality of construction. I will continue to highly recommend Camp Chef at all our BBQ's and gatherings. I just wish it still looked as good as it works. Curt P.S. I am in the process of locking down the grill. What recommendations do you have for removing the dents and bends? :-)

I received this for a Father's Day gift. I have replaced hot rod three times and now controller will not power up. Will try and reach camp chef this week. When working its great but it seem to be broken more than working.

I've had the sear box for 2 weeks and it's the best accessory I've added to my pellet grill. I like the instant heat for searing. My pellet grill has the slide and grill feature but I like the sear box as it helps conserve pellets. I've seared a whole chicken after smoking, chicken wings, and a standing rib roast and all turned out perfect.

Assembly was straight-forward. Toughest part was getting the temperature probe in place, but I like puzzles! Grill and controls are intuitive and work great. Sidekick ignitor will not work. Can't figure out how to fix that issue.

Good product. Mounts easy. Loved using the pizza oven. Igniter will not work though.

No stranger to pellet grill's used many many different brands over the years. This Camp Chief is amazing!

I bought this for my parents and they absolutely love it.

Overall, I'm completely happy w/ my smoker purchase. My only reason for the 4-star rating is I'm struggling to get a high volume of smoke - even on smoke setting 10. The upside is I get to eat my continued attempts! One other mild issue - I paired the controller with my phone right away and it seemed to work just fine for my initial burn-in. But, when I tried to connect later, I couldn't find the grill. In an attempt to fix it, I tried to "reset" the grill and then, without doing any thing else (ie: repairing) the app found the grill and it's worked flawless ever since. This seems illogical, but I can't argue with the results. :-) Another upside - the sidekick is awesome! With all of the kids out of the house, the gas burner (I also bought the grill box) is perfect for a couple burgers for me and my wife. I also used the griddle to fry sausage and bacon w/o filling the house with smoke. I am impressed with the relative even heating across the griddle surface. And, the grease trap works exactly as designed.

This entire system is really great and functional I love it
