We bought our grill 3 years ago and kept it in good condition. Recently, we noticed that coating on the top part of the firebox is buckling and flaking, with the material falling right onto the cooking area below. The material is very hard (with sharp edges) and poses quite a safety / health risk if ingested. At this point, it renders our grill useless. We never had such quality issue with any other grills that we bought in the past.

This grill cooks hot and fast with no flare up. Great grill until the porcelain coated steel insides rust out. Then you will be extremely upset at how expensive it is to fix and you will literally tear apart the entire grill to fix it. The outside is made of high grade stainless and will last a lifetime, but the internal part that get the abuse from heating/cooling are porcelain coated steel which will wear out. Mine took 6 years and then the front panel with the control knobs actually fell off the grill. Way too much money to have key components wear out like that. My guess is that it was designed that way on purpose.

Never, in my wildest dreams, would I have thought I would spend this kind of money for a gas grill. I took the plunge and, boy, am I glad I did. I got tired of buying grill after grill grill. A neighbor helped me assemble it in a little under two hours. Once completed, I thought I would break it in the right way; steak! The 1 1/4" thick ribeye cooked quicker than I have ever cooked one before. It turned out moist, tender, and delicious! After a full 30 days using it; I am glad I purchased this grill. I absolutely love it. Would I buy it again? I better not have to, but I would if needed.

No flare ups, easy to clean and most important: grills the right way with marks and searing. Need to be careful not to overcook, which I'll solve. This is the real deal.

I recently purchased and received the Sabre Cast 500 3 burner grill. I have most definitely had issues with this grill. The tank exclusion shelf screw hole to the left side of the grill was not even close to lining up. I finally pulled the shelf out and beat it with a hammer to get it line up. I put the doors on and they were not even close to lining up. After a few times taking them on and off, one of the inserts that are pressed into the frame on the left side came loose. Now I cannot put the left door on. This is a brand new grill that cost over $1300 and is made in the USA. It had some great reviews. My only hope is that BBQGuys will be able to make this right. Maybe a replacement left side, but no telling what I will have issues with when I get the doors on. Very disappointed.

I never write reviews but usually read them when shopping for products. This grill received excellent reviews so I figured I could purchase a mid level grill for a fair price..... What a mistake! the temperature control of burners is non Existent. The high , medium and low settings are all the same. I realize this is not a premium grill but I upgraded hoping to at least have some type of temp control and not have to cook on high or indirect heat. I would compare this grill to a cheap box store grill.... such a disappointment. I should have stepped up and purchased a premium grill.

This grill is very nice. I'm still learning how to cook on it but everything comes out good anyway. I like the lack of flareups for sure and it's almost self cleaning. I leave it on high after food comes off for 10 min or so and it burns off most everything. We've cooked burgers and dogs, steak and marinated chicken, baked potatos, squash and onions. Very good temp control and sectional enough to allow 400 on one side with 750 on the other. We've only had it for a month but so far so good.

This grill (the Cast 500 32" with built-in side burner) is built to a very high standard. It cooks food wonderfully without any flare ups. Since the burners are sealed, there is very little to clean and maintain, which is awesome! I also own a Weber Spirt II at my lake home and it uses the standard open flame design with flavor bars. That design requires lots of cleaning and maintenance. Also, the Weber's design and build quality are not nearly as high as the Saber's. My only criticisms are that the ignitor failed after 3 years (common for all grills), the Saber custom grill cover is made of cheap material and the seams failed after 6 months (so would not recommend), and the casters have rusted (but still work).

Other than a little difficult putting together.....its fantastic. Great quality! Gets up to 900 deg, cook evenly, no fire, and you can hardly tell its on. Be careful if its windy,, they flame has gone out on me....you'll know when it happens...the temp starts to drop and you can start smelling to propane
Questions & Answers
Hi thanks for asking. Infrared burners function essentially the same, but the differences often come down to what fuel it requires, what material is it made out of, and they aren't interchangeable brands so you can't put a Saber infrared burner in to a TEC grill and vice versa simply because they are made by different companies.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
