After much research, I chose the BJ. The BBQGUYS had a chipped unit at a reduced price. Although it arrived with a chipped firebox as well, KJ and the BBQGUYS excellent service replaced the box free. This has turned out to be the best purchase I ever made. Between pies, steaks, ribs, cheesecakes, you name it and I'm a popular guy at work. The grill is easy to get and keep at a constant temp. I've used KJ charcoal and think it's great as well. Little ash.

My first ceramic grill was Kamado Joe Jr. Upgraded to Classic, which was outstanding. But I wanted more capacity so just graduated to Big Joe. The new 2017 upgrades, especially removing 94% of weight from handle, make this a no brainer.

After a YEAR of research and comparison between BGE, Primo and Kamodo Joe and I took a leap of faith and could not be HAPPIER! Big Green Egg, Saffire and Primo grills were available at my local dealers BUT I could NOT find any KJ dealers near me. 1 - Kamodo Joe has been FAR MORE innovative in their design and features than other brands! 2 - Available options such as KJ Soap Stone and JoeTisserie! Where are BGE or Primo options??? Kamodo Joe Soap Stone... 3 - FAR more SUPERIOR looking hinge vs BGE or Primo! 4 - INCLUDES EASY to use ASH TRAY! Primo or BGE??? 5 - Divide and Conquer, also in Promo Grill. 6 - STAND and SHELVES included! 7 - NO 3rd party dealer to deal with for warranty issues! Yes, ceramic is make in China BUT China HAS been making world's FINEST ceramic for CENTURIES! "but not dense" ROFL...SUCKER IS HEAVIER than BGE..SO I am NOT sure how it could be dense... Fiberglass vs Felt gasket? I presume fiberglass gasket might be FAR more superior! "Eventually get on your food" SILLY and I HIGHLY DOUBT IT!!! "Chimney Cap leaks smoke residue" IT IS A MOISTURE that builds like ANY OTHER smokers and grills!!! NO ROCKS found in my firebox. New firebox design is to prevent POSSIBLE cracking issue due to heat expansion. I have older designs so I am not sure how it will work out BUT ALL ceramic parts have LIFETIME WARRANTY! "Ash removal has dotted wall" TO ALLOW AIR CIRCULATION which is CRITICAL for ANY GRILL! "The heat retention is not that great. You have to always watch out" I have smoked many briskets for 18 - 19 HOURS with SINGLE load of charcoal DURING WINTER in NORTHERN ILLINOIS and it takes HOURS to cool it back down before I can put the cover back on. I am NOT affiliated with BBQ GUYS or Kamodo Joe or whatever, I'm just a customer who is VERY VERY HAPPY with this KJ Big Joe! P.S. BBQ GUYS ROCK!!!

Having had this for two months I've had to file 4 warranty claims already. Yes this grill includes many items others brand charge extra for but it seems quality is lacking. I've already gone through 3 Kontrol towers and notice rust forming on the nuts that hold the side shelves on. Does it make amazing food? yeah but so do other brands... choose wisely. I wish I'd gone with the primo

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
