Bought this bbq delight a couple months ago and its performed fantastic. Temperature is easy to control for a relative newbie to charcoal grilling like me and is super efficient. Living in a cold weather climate I was looking for a durable charcoal grill that was easy to maintain and this machine does the trick!
I bought this item a little over a month ago. Grilling meats is amazing. I recently smoked some wings and this weekend I am doing ribs. The cooker holds a temp for hours, you just have to play with it a little to dial it in, overall very very high quality and much more durable than traditional ceramic kamodo cookers.
I have had my Keg for a year and a half now. I researched several of the Kamado style cookers before deciding on the Keg. I liked the fact that it is steel, lighter, easier to move around the yard and the gasket on the lid seemed far supeior to it's competitors. Locally available to me there was also had a better variety of accessories. Since I'm new to this type of BBQ, it took me awhile to get use it and learn why is best. Quality charcoal doesn't cost much more and it is well worth it. A blow torch is the best way I have found to start it up (a garden weed torch from Lee Valley Tools). And with the Keg watch you heat. It is very well insulated and heats up quickly. So watch the gauge and dial down the vents when you near your goal. From searing steak, slow roasting prime rib, turkey, to pizza and more, I love the flavor.

We bought this 3 months ago and have us it all summer. We have cooked everything you can imagine on it. We have smoked fish, ribs, chicken. cooked a roast, chicken, and pork. Grilled veggies, like stuffed peppers. Cooked a pizza on a ceramic plate. The list goes on. We have used different wood flavoured chips. All good. It is amazing

Got the keg on a business rewards site. Chose it over the "green" smoker due to reviews I had read. I am very happy with its performance. The only thing lacking is a balanced cast iron grill top. When you use the Multi-tool to lift out the cast iron grill it wants to tip to one side and can land on your foot if your not careful. Other than this minor inconvenience if your on the fence about the Keg.....you won't be disappointed and be shocked how well made the keg is. I have done pizzas, low and slow ribs ( the Keg easily maintains 225 for long periods with a good diffuser) and seared steaks. My friends that have the "green smoker" feel that this Keg is as good as theirs if not better.

We just cooked our first meal on the KEG 5000 series. It was amazing. It only took 6 minutes for the KEG to reach the temp. we needed to cook the Asian Chicken that was juicy on the inside and the skin was so crispy brown on the outside. We had planked smoked hickory potatoe chip. Beautiful flavour and done to perfection. Never had to flip or turn any food on the grill. It was perfect. We took that meal off the KEG Grill and put on a full rack of Makeral to be smoked. It's cooking now. We turned the grill down to 200 and let it cook for a while. The temp is every easy to control and the taste is out of this world. Everyone gets so used to the propane and forgets how good the charcoal flavour is. We will not be using our propane BBQ again. Not sure what we will do with it.
I purchased my new grill just over a month ago and it has been a weekend treat to fire it up and smell that great smoke as chicken, ribs, pork tenderloins, etc. cook nice and slow. It can take a little getting used to since it is different from the gas grill and I have never before used coal but that is exactly why I got it - a different way of grilling and a different taste. This grill is well made, sturdy, easy to move around and has a large cooking surface. Getting it started and up to, and maintaining the desired temperature is a breeze. The learning has been figuring out how much coal I need for different cooking times as well as how much liquid I need in the diffuser pan (a must have for slow cooks) to keep foods from drying out during longer 'low and slow' cooks.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
