Has a great handle and slices with ease. Just don't leave the handle in water as it will swell if over exposed.

I love this knife, my wife bought it for me as 7 birthday gift. The balance is incredible and the edge is ridiculously sharp. Paper test was a breeze. The Damascus steel is beautiful I absolutely love it.

Perfect knife for me! First time using a Japanese knife and really love this one. Very sharp, and stays nice a sharp. Love the Damascus design which really makes for an authentic design. Difficult going back to my German knives after using this one.

I love every inch of this knife. The micarta handle is very smooth and comfortable to hold. The blade is very sharp. The acute angle and thinness of the blade gives straight thin and accurate cuts. The Damascus style layering gives it such a unique look. The VG10 steel stays very sharp and is easy to maintain. All the hallmarks of quality Japanese cutlery is here including the watermarked edge as found in classic Katana blades.

The Miyabi Santoku comes in two sizes, 7 and 5 inches. My preference is the 7, but I have many family members who prefer the 5. Either way, this is a terrific chopping knife. The width of a santoku, from tip to heel make it extremely stable to chop thick foods - a large roast, a butternut squash, an eggplant. The sharpness of the Kaizen also makes it easy to make elegant thin slices too. The hollow divots (called a Granton edge) reduce friction and allow food to slip away easily. Adding to the enjoyment of this exceptional cutting tool is its beauty. The Damascus-style polishing showing the layers and the linen Micarta handle with finishing details combine to make using and owning this knife a joy. Hone regularly. Hand wash. This knife will be sharp and beautiful for a lifetime.

This santoku has a core of VG10 super steel and is protected by 64 layers of additional steel. It is also ice hardened so the knife stays sharper for a longer period of time. The blade is razor sharp. The knife also has hollow edges to help push away food from the blade as you cut, a nice time saving bonus.

VG-10 Carbon steel core...multiple wraps for stability and brilliant Damascus pattern. Really tough, long-lasting micarta handle. Can both rock and chop!

This is one of the most beautiful knives I've ever seen! It is not only beautiful, it is super sharp and I feel like I can make more pressie cuts with it. I love the design on the blade and the width is great to move food from the cutting board to the pan. The handle is also pretty and comfortable to use.

I love the attention to detail on this knife. From the smooth transition between blade and handle, to the beautiful damascus layers protecting the razor sharp cutting steel this knife is IT! As a traditional shaped chinese chef knife it will get plenty of use in my kitchen. Meant to last a lifetime, the cutting edge certainly stays sharp and smooth unlike other Japanese brands that seem to nick a lot.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
