I got my Joe from an auction and the deflector plates were broken so I ordered them a few months afterwards and they have made a tremendous difference for the better. The temperature maintains better. Having the option for indirect cooking offers better results for some foods that may require more subtle cooking.

Absolutely ridiculous how expensive your products are! Some products in combination with one another cost just as much as another smoker pit!! I'm going to purchase another grill that have cheaper accessories! Again, there is no rhyme or reason as to why Kamado Joe accessories are so expensive!! There are many other pit options just as good if not better than Kamado Joe. In closing, I will not be recommending Kamado Joe pits and products to anyone! Thanks, and have a Productive Day.

I brought these deflector plates they work great I highly recommend them. There is so many different options to cook with these.

These heat deflector's are poorly made and crack very easily. They are a stain on the Kamado Joe legacy. Please offer something superior.

These have worked fine for the last few years, but it's got one flaw that KJ could easily fix by providing another product. That flaw is that this is two pieces, and unless you can get it to fit flush perfectly after a thorough cleaning after every cook, heat will make it through the seam. KJ needs to offer a full circle which takes away the seam and allows for a full deflection of heat to the sides. I like these in case I need to block heat and have a hot and cold side, but for long smoke where I want the heat blocked the whole time (brisket for example), I want to see a full moon (one piece circle). I'd buy it instantly. Right now, I have to use some foil to combine the too.

Not sure if shipping to NY is the reason, Christmas season, por because of the weight, but it was almost like pulling teeth to find out about the status of the shipping. Otherwise, the half moon deflectors work like a charm. Very brittle, but easy to care for if you're attentive

I have a similar experience to Jaffar with regard to the deflector plates. I purchased a Kamodo Joe about 3 or 4 years ago and found one of the plates cracked in half recently. I do not expect the ceramic plates to crack unless misused and these were not misused. I will have to purchase a replacement as this is a necessary accessory for the kamado joe and they worked great until one of them cracked.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
