It has only been a month but I love, love, love my new Saber Cast 500 grill. Assembly was simple and the instructions were easy. It really heats up quick and the patented grill system eliminates flair ups. I can add wood chips around the perimeter of the grill area and it adds a great smokey flavor. I even added them to the leg of lamb I cooked for Easter. I live a quarter mile from the beach and the 305 Stainless is imperative if you want a grill to last more than 18 mos. We shall see how this passes the test of time.

Just bought the grill. Everything seems to work well and it is a heavy and substantial grill. The first steaks we cooked on it were great. We used to have a Holland Grill and loved it because the it never flared up. But, the Company went out of business this past summer. Our new Saber grill also helps prevent flare ups and is very well constructed. We weren't looking for a $400 grill from Lowes or Home Depot and we weren't looking at some sort of $10,000 built-in outdoor kitchen sort of grill either. We wanted a well designed and well built grill and we got one with this product. It's also the perfect size for our deck and our cooking needs.

GRILLE ARRIVED QUICKLY AND CRATED WELL. THE FREIGHT COMPANY REMOVED IT FROM TRUCK AND ROLLED IT INTO MY GARAGE SO I COULD ASSEMBLE. SABER'S QUALITY MADE ASSEMBLY GREAT. WIFE STARTED USING GRILLE RIGHT AWAY. SHE SAID IT'S THE BEST COOKING GRILLE WE EVER HAD. LOVE THE INFRARED COOKING FOR MORE EVEN HEAT. PURCHASING FROM BBQ GUYS WAS PLEASANT AND THEIR WEB SITE IS VERY IMFORMATIVE. BEST PRICE ALSO.
Bought in 2013 and it has been awesome, yes ignitor went but that is normal for any grill and have had no issue with rust, we bought the cover and we live in Georgia with huge rain storms.
We have had this grill for almost 4 weeks now and it is hands down the best grill I have ever cooked on. We have done New York strip steaks, chicken breast, hamburgers, center cut pork loin chops, and an assortment of veggies. The three different cooking zones maintain their heat well. It is easy to cook meat on high and veggies on med-low with the zones maintaining their set temperatures. Meat comes out nice and juicy. I always used to brine my chicken and pork but have found that isn't necessary with the Saber. They all come out nice and juicy. I am also amazed that there are zero flame ups. This grill truly is a joy to cook on!

As a retired automotive engineer, I would like to share my impressions of the quality of design and construction of the Saber grill that I have just finished assembling. What impressed me most was the obvious attention to assembly convenience, quality of components, and design for durability in the engineering effort that went into this grill. There are only two fasteners that the customer needs to deal with: 1/4"-20 stainless steel bolts and #8-32 stainless steel phillips head screws --- no nuts and no washers!! No nuts or washers because all the threaded nuts are actually high quality rivets that are factory-installed into the component parts and that provide more thread engagement than a nut does. Every single fastening point for connecting various components to one another lined up perfectly. There are even special locater tabs at certain points to assist the customer in the assembly. For example, the doors, which have their hinges pre-assembled, have a tab that allows them to hang on the side panel thereby permitting the customer to easily install the fasteners. The entire firebox is pre-assembled, but beware, it does take two people to lift it into position (or clever use of leverage after unbolting and removing the heavy lid). Fit and finish of the Saber is beyond my expectations. Over the last year I have purchased and assembled four major (aka, expensive) woodworking machines. They serve as my primary frame of reference in stating that the Saber grill is an exceptional product that benefits from a lot of design consideration aimed at satisfying the customer. I did find one design-related flaw that I'll try to explain. By removing a burner control knob it will be obvious it is a metal casting (probably zinc) and has three webs. 3 of the 4 knobs had slight interference with the panel screws which caused a gritty feel when turning. Solution: grind down the tall web.
I bought my Saber Cast 500 last year. I live in Canada and used it last February in a blizzard. This grill is built like a tank. Meats sear beautifully and retain their juices. The elimination flare ups completely changes thye grilling experience.

Purchased the Saber grill three years ago. Loved it until this year. Rusted wheels and inside shelf. Saber sent the pieces and upon dismantling it discovered every piece that is enamel coated has rusted right through. Saber sent all the pieces needed, which means rebuilding an entire grill. But it will happen again in a few years. Defect on the side panel as water gets in and stays trapped. Hence the rust. Very disappointed with this grill. Three years and we are ready to buy a Weber.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
