For transparency, Masterbuilt sent me this unit to try out, but they did not tell me what to say, nor would i agree to publish something that i don't believe in myself. You're getting my honest take here. I've been using the Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050 for a bit now and honestly… I'm hooked. It gives me all the smoky flavor I want from charcoal without having to constantly babysitting it. Between the digital controls and the GravityFed hopper, it's pretty much set it, forget it, and still feel like a BBQ wizard. Load the hopper, light it with a couple starters, and let the fire and fan do all the work. The state in their marketing that it will git smoking temps (225°F) and 700 °F in 15 mins. I find that it hits smoking temps in between 10 and 15 minutes (and can crank all the way up to 700 °F in about 20-25 mins or so. For me, thats not that huge, as I typically find that my gas grill takes much longer to hear up. I've used it for low and slow brisket, ribs, and roasting fruit + veggies. It has nailed the cook every time. For other things, the cooking space is huge. With the three levels of grates, you can run different heat zones and cook for a crowd or just throw on a couple burgers. The charcoal flavor is clean and deep, and it's nice not having to reload mid cook on long smokes. I'm even going to test it this Thanksgiving with a couple turkeys. If I had to nitpick, some of the sheet metal could be a little heavier, so I keep mine covered to avoid rust. I like the app, but I have had a few issues. Its great when it connects, I find the closer you are to the grill the better, but every now and then it drops out. I find that it can be a little delayed on the time/temp notifications too, but lets be honest, your transferring data via Bluetooth, so a little hiccup here and there is to be expected. When you're cranking it hot, the fan will kick up a little ash dust too. None of these issues have actually affected the food and it still comes out exactly how I want. Bottom line: This is one of the most versatile cookers I have ever used. It has conquered every thing ive thrown at it with flying colors...with that true charcoal flavor that any one that loves grilling, or eating anything grilled, cant get enough of. Gas and pellet grills just can't replicate it. It's the kind of grill that makes you want to extend grilling season to year round. If you love the idea of charcoal cooking but want the convenience and control of modern tech, this grill will make you very happy.
I would not buy any of their products. I have a gravity 800 and have nothing but problems with it. I have not even owned it a year.

rotisserie motor lasted less than 10 minutes. 4 lb chicken . extremely disappointed in the quality of motor and cord/plug.
Motor is supremely underpowered. Struggles to spin 1 chicken let alone 3. Can't spin a weber crisper basket even when empty. I have deburred the inside of the adapter sleeve and adapter itself so it spins obstruction free but still has issues with torque. I immediately purchased an upgraded motor to replace this weak one. Live my master built but this is a joke.

Similar to others who have yards with a lot of sun exposure, this thing is worthless. Mine is 2 years old and the material is completely degraded; each time we remove it new holes form, the thing is just falling apart (the fading doesn't bother me and could be expected).

Quality cover
I've had one for a year now. Only downside is, it is prone to flare ups. If you clean it after a cook, it's amazing. If you don't, it will flare up after a couple of cooks if your cooking hot and fast.
Received this as a birthday gift and was extremely excited to use it. Followed the instructions to set up the product, and the motor will not spin properly. Keep in mind I am trying to cook a 4 lb. Chicken, which the motor should handle with ease. Unbelievably frustrating and frankly unacceptable. Do better, Masterbuilt
I've only had this grill cover for two years, and it's completely faded and torn to shreds. Total waste of money. For the price, I expected way better quality. Extremely disappointed. Don't waste your money on this cover.
I bought this model after extensive research, and I've been using it for the past three months. I've smoked fish, chicken, and pork on it plus grilled steaks and burgers. I love the option of using lump charcoal, wood, or a mix. Easy to control and monitor with the app, and impressive results every time. Much more smokey flavor than a pellet smoker, much easier to leave it untended for extended periods than an offset rig.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
