We splurged on this grill for my dad the day after Thanksgiving only because it was on sale for Black Friday. I would have preferred to wait because it was such a large purchase- and now I'm angry because we still haven't received the grill or any kind of shipping notification. We ordered it almost a month ago now and don't even have a date to expect it around. It likely won't be here before Christmas even though at the time of purchase, it was promised that it would be. So much money thrown away for empty promises. Absolute let down.

I bought less than a year ago. Started out great, above expectations. Now doesn't get up to temperature, fan turns off and main control buttons are unresponsive.

I currently own an offset and drum smoker, and recently sold a big name pellet grill. I sold the pellet grill because the smoke flavor just isn't there compared to using a real wood fire and/or charcoal. However, one thing I do miss about the pellet grill is how easy it is to use. This is where the Masterbuilt came in to save the day. I can fill the hopper with real charcoal and real wood, set my temperature, walk away, and still get incredible smoke flavor? Yes, I can! I have been really impressed with the smoke I get from this along with all the convenience of a pellet grill. Now that I have a newborn, I can't spend all my free time managing a fire on the offset for 8 hours a day. I will second what a lot of people have said about quality, though. For now, mine is working great with no issues, but the eyeball test tells you right away this unit is made with some cheap parts and materials. I really hope it holds up over time because it's been my go to smoker. I do think it would be a great idea if Masterbuilt were to build a higher quality unit to correct a lot of issues I've read about. It could be a "Pro" or "HD" version, or something of the sort with higher end materials, parts, and components.

I have the 1050 and I like it but I wish it would heat more evenly. The left side of my grill is a lot cooler than the right. Also since it doesn't seal completely there should be an easy way to empty the charcoal because it gets wet and almost impossible to light.

This grill lasted about 11 months before it started having major issues. Their customer is an absolute joke. I have been emailing back and forth with them for 7 months now. It seems like they are really putting in effort to NOT help me out. Aside from whatever software or wiring issue it has, it also has a temperature issue. It always had trouble getting past 500 degrees. The grill has not worked at all for the past 7 months and I'm still waiting on customer service to help me out.

I had mine for about 18 months. 4 months ago I had to replace the controller, all the wiring, all 3 contactors, and the fan. No the metal in the charcoal hopper has worn through to the fiberglass insulation. This grill cooks food really well when it worked.

Bought the cover last year after purchase of our grill. 18 months later it is junk. Completely faded out and tearing with the least amount of stress. Having to duck tape together. Grill is great, cover is terrible. Never buy it.

I April of 2022 I purchased MASTERBUILT MB20040221 GRAVITY SERIES 800 DIGITAL CHARCOAL GRILL. This grill was working Great until September of 2022, when gasket in a chute burnt out and new was required. Then in September of 2022 the fan and control panel failed. And finally it looks like another parts failed and I will have to junk the whole unit. Quality i not good. Don't buy

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
