Outdoor Patio Heaters

When the sun goes down and the days get shorter, stay outside a little longer by adding patio heating to your outdoor living space. Outdoor kitchen heaters will allow you to entertain and keep your friends and family warm year-round.

They’re a great option for staying warm when it’s cool outdoors, and there are a variety tof outdoor heater types to consider.

Patio Heater Fuel Types

  • Natural Gas – A natural gas patio heater is not a very mobile option because they’ll always need to be connected to a gas line. What they lack in mobility, however, they make up for in heat. These are the hottest and cleanest-burning heaters on the market.

  • Propane – Propane patio heaters typically won’t generate as much heat as a natural gas heater, but the floor-standing models offer the benefit of portability.

  • Electric – These are easy to install and can function without air flow. While they may not get as hot as natural gas heaters, many electric models generate more heat than propane patio heaters, and you don’t have to worry about running gas lines or filling tanks.

Style is another thing to consider when purchasing a patio heater. Though the fuel type is influenced by the availability of gas in your outdoor space, many styles are available in more than one fuel type. If you want to be able to move your heater, you’ll want to get a model that requires no installation. But if you want more space in your outdoor kitchen, you should consider a heater that requires installation but is positioned out of the way on the wall or ceiling.

Patio Heater Styles:

  • Wall and Ceiling Mount Patio Heaters – These are more permanent solutions that require installation but will provide more room on the patio.

  • Freestanding Patio Heaters – They take up room on your patio, but propane and electric models don’t require instillation and can be moved.

  • Hanging Heaters – These units eat up zero floor space, but they heat only a small area and must be installed.

  • Tabletop Patio Heaters –They give the appearance of an outdoor lamp and heat a small space, though they require no installation.
