Customer Reviews
Bought mine in early july. Have been using every excuse to use it. Love the temp range and control the SF offers. I can honestly say the SF provides more smoke flavor than my PB grill does. Would give 5 star rating but pellet bridging can happen during high temp cooks. The electronics were easy to set up (not a computer guy) and can monitor temps away from home. When I purchased the SF It has to prove itself to be great or it will be replaced with another brand,so far I'm impressed. Use the weber sized pellets and it will be good.

For a person who never thought he'd buy a pellet grill, I'm very impressed. With ten cooks under my belt, I've had no issues whatsoever. Assemble it properly, and do basic cleaning periodically, and it'll treat you right.
Love this grill! Smokes and hold temp better than anything I've used in the past. Super easy with the Weber app and Wi-Fi connection. Sears meat to perfection and long smoking days are effortless now! The Weber presets on the app could use some additional functionality and customizeability, but work fine for the vast amount of grilling/smoking. The lower section under the grill could benefit from some storage for pellets or grill "stuff" and the stock wheels are useless on anything other than smooth, level surfaces. All in all, it's great! Could use a little tweaking in future versions.

The grill works well and does what I want. I assembled it myself and was disappointed with the quality of materials used. The non-locking wheels would not thread into the legs. The locking wheels would thread into any of the legs. This led me to believe the issue was with the threads on the wheel mount. Using a channel-locks to thread one of the wheels in, resulted in the threads getting fouled up. I was supposed to be getting the non-locking wheels and a replacement leg. Weber sent the leg, but not the wheels. Grill is immobile and sitting on some block to keep it level so I am able to grill food. Has a great trailer park vibe to it.

Thank you for bringing this up to our attention. We are sorry to hear about the trouble with the wheel caster! We will reach out shortly to assist further. Thanks!
This pellet smoker is great. I have cooked about six times on it now and it works great as a smoker as well as a regular grill. I additionally have a Weber propane grill bought in 1983 and 2002. Both grills still work well and have had only minor repairs. The pellet grill with the exacting controls, smoking ability and high temp capability makes grilling a breeze. I particularly like the built in timers and the app control.
So far it has been a good experience as I am also learning more about use. We've done a spatchcock chicken, pork ribs, pizza and today a chuck roast. We did note however that when we lowered temp to 355 and then raised back to 580 the system fed fuel so quickly it smothered itself out. As PID control might be addressed with a firmware adjustment to slow the fuel feed when making major temp changes up.
I have enjoyed using this smoker for a few different types of cooks. I haven't done any extremely long smokes, but the hopper has great capacity, the temps seem to hold very consistently, and having the built in probes is pretty awesome. There is room for improvement, especially in the hopper, as even with the second generation it seems the pellets do not slide as well. This is the best looking smoker I've seen on the market, so it's a nice addition to the patio. The casters need to be improved, these ones barely make it over normal sidewalk cracks. The accessory options on this are also pretty awesome, with the folding front table and an additional side table.
The SmokeFire EX4 is a fantastic pellet grill. I have never used a pellet grill before and am so happy that this grill is both easy to use and is very low-maintenance. It only took me about minutes during initial setup to connect my phone to the grill and get to cooking. Nice even cooking during a low and slow smoke. A bit uneven grilling surface. Pros: - Weber Connect app interface is super simple and clean. - The hopper fits a whole bag of pellets and has lasted over 3 cooks so far. - Very fast start-up time to get up to temperature. - Grease and ash drawer is very easy to use. - Build quality is great and shows 0 signs of rust so far. - Plenty of cooking space. Cons: - Bluetooth range on the grill to app connection is very limited. Would have to be under 100ft away with no interferences. - The hopper capacity may not be able to sustain super long cooks (ie brisket, pork butt, etc) - Flavorizer bars don't stay in place. Have to balance at just the right angle. - Heat is a bit inconsistent when grilling. Leans more hot towards the middle and right side of the grill.
The SmokeFire arrived with 2 non-working wheels and no emblem on the front of the grill, just 2 holes. Those issues were easy enough to correct through Weber Customer Service. These easy to spot details were not found prior to shipment and makes me wonder if any quality assurance was done. It gives me considerable doubts about the operation of the rest of the unit. Indeed, I wasn't even able to get through the original seasoning without malfunctions. I downloaded the app and did the required updates, loaded the hopper with about 1/2 bag Weber pellets and when it got to around 400 F the pellets stopped loading. Pushed the pellets back toward the Auger and added more pellets and set the temp back to 600 and waited. No increase in temperature. Checked the grill and the auger was pushing out pellets but was not lighting them, causing the pellets to collect on the bottom of the grill. Cleaned out the unspent pellets and took the unit back apart and confirmed that the glow plug was working, it just didn't burn the pellets, 3rd attempt to season the grill got to 600. I thought that Weber had corrected the issues on Gen 1, but I am not convinced. When you have a brand new product and have 2 separate malfunctions during the seasoning, something is wrong. Also concerning is that they give you 2 extra glow plugs. Why would they do that, unless they expect them to fail early and often? The app is very simple and constantly notifies you of low fuel even if you have a substantial amount of pellets in the hopper. This appears to be due to the location of the sensor on the opposite side of the ramp the pellets descend. It also blows pellet dust/ash everywhere. I purchased this unit with great hope, I have many friends with lower end units that function simply and consistently. I wanted to be able to set it and forget it, but it looks like I will have to tend to the pellets constantly and continually check the temperature to make sure it is working. The lid also did not close on one side and left about 1/4" gap, so I had to have a new one sent out, but it still does not close snugly on both sides. Weber customer service gets an A+, but the grill itself gets an F-.

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
