Customer Reviews
For the price a very nice smoker. Assembly was longer than expected and the latches a little flimsy. The paint did burn off in places but that is to be expected. The temp gauge went south and is stuck at 440 . Hopefully, I can get a new one.
Just got this vertical smoker today and assembled it. Cheap hardware, thin main body and the locking latches are super flimsy. Only thing that feels well made is the lid.
Although I haven't used it yet I would comment that it is quite well made and assembled easily.
I received this as a gift and have assembled it. The handle is on the door but I am puzzed as how to attach the top of the door to the barrel. I'm I missing something? A part perhaps? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
1. It takes longer than 15 minutes to assemble. 2. You need some type of wrench to tighten screws. 3. Assembly instructions are not clear regarding charcoal parts, for example coal grate and pan. Regarding the pan, the vent cut out leads one to believe that that piece should be turned and exposed to air. 4. The fire ring is flimsy and will deform and likely rust and break before the end of the smokers life. 5. The tabs holding the grates are too long resulting in having to spill the water basing making a mess. 6. The assembly latches are misaligned, do not compress tight, and when carrying the assembly it falls apart. I happened to have had the assembly fall apart over a wood floor and the sharp sided legs gouged the floor. 7. The video is cheesy and more a sales pitch rather than a helpful tool that explains how to load, start coals, adjust temperature. Right now I have no clue how the bottom venting system is supposed to work. Also the video and instruction sheet shows a charcoal starter being used and of course that does not come with the smoker.
It smokes great but the paint on e body peeled off from the heat and the body has rusted during 1 summer of use. It still works just looks bad. The top has some ceramic and is fine

Great smoker. Picked up a 10Ib brisket, once loaded I was able to place it on the balcony and let it do it's thing, first brisket came out beautifully.
We have really enjoyed the Cuisinart Vertical 18" Smoker. The setup was a bit complex for newbies who have never smoked anything before, but we used some You Tube videos and were able to figure it out. We have made a few chickens and a brisket and the meat is just unlike anything you have ever made at home! It is delicious!!!!

I have really enjoyed learning to use the Cuisinart smoker. As a novice, I found the unit extremely easy to setup and get started. I found the units size to be perfect for my small back porch. It fits nicely in one corner and the height doesn't require me to constantly bend over when using. Within the first week, I smoked two briskets and an amazing rack of pork ribs. I highly recommend starting small with a chicken or ribs - a brisket takes a long time and can be tricky until you get the hang of it. The only issues I had include: 1) one of the clips that secures the bottom of the unit did not line up and therefore could not be latched 2) the lid of the smoker is often difficult to secure once the unit heats up 3) the built-in thermometer doesn't seem very accurate and it's hard to gauge the temperature on the lower rack.

I was extremely excited for this smoker to arrive. I've been wanting to start smoking meat during the summer and with upcoming nice weather, I thought this would be a perfect smoker to begin with. This is a simple smoker with what seems to be the essentials to smoking great meat. It does not have all the bells and whistles but does carry a better price tag for a beginner. It has a thermometer on the outside, easy access vents and a manual to help you start. Of course this is a charcoal smoker but the ability to be able to put wood chips along with it is great. It really does add another element of flavor to the meat. It is a perfect size for just me and my husband. We are able to fit plenty of meat to entertain. I suppose the only bad thing is having to wake up so early so that the meat has enough time to properly cook. But it is so worth it! We have not cleaned it yet because we read it is good to get a patina on it before it's first wash. But I think a good hose down will do the trick. We really love our new smoker!

When will my item arrive?
Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we've all come to expect for small parcels, so it's important that you're prepared and understand what's required of you well before delivery day.
- Most freight products ship on a pallet
- Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
- We'll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.
For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:
Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can't be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we've only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.
For carriers that deliver without an appointment:
Carriers that deliver without an appointment don't require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren't required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you're home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you're out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
