Summit Gas & Electric Cooktops
Cooktops are an essential part of the home — without it, bringing the family together around a home-cooked meal and expressing yourself through culinary creativity would be much more difficult tasks. So, why not trust your cooktop to a reliable brand with a proven track record of performance and durability? Hey, now that we mention it, all of that applies to Summit island cooktops! Offered in electric and gas with 1, 2, or 4 burners, Summit has a cooktop to fit any space (yes, even yours).
Summit Induction Cooktops
The power of science is on display with these Summit appliances, which create heat via induction. Simply put, heat is magnetically produced with the aid of the pot or pan on the cooktop, resulting in no open flames and heat channeled to the cookware only. For induction to work, though, your cookware must be made of cast iron, steel, or magnetic stainless steel. That means aluminum, copper, and non-magnetic stainless steel pots and pans won’t get the job done on Summit induction cooktops. You can see if your current cookware meets the standard by testing its induction abilities with a magnet — or you can just use the 7-piece cookware set that comes with each of these Summit models! They’re safe to use on other electric and gas surfaces, plus they can be placed in an oven or run through a dishwasher.
Science aside, there’s still plenty to love about Summit induction cooktops. They reach cooking temperatures in half the time of standard ranges, feature Schott Ceran black glass cooking surfaces that are easy to clean, and boast superior construction inside and out. And while Summit provides home chefs with 8 power settings for precise cooking, the company didn’t skimp on safety in exchange: a child lock, automatic safety switch-off, and residual heat indicator ensure protection above all else.
Summit Traditional Cooktops>
“Traditional” might not sound quite as magnetic as “induction” (see what we did there?), but these Summit island cooktops stand proudly on their own merit. In fact, the majority of these units are manufactured in Italy, lending them a modern elegance to elevate your indoor kitchen. The sleek ceramic glass or tempered glass cooktops are just as aesthetically pleasing, without being difficult to maintain. These particular gas models also bring push-to-turn knobs for easy lighting, thermocouple flame failure protection that shuts off the gas once the flame is extinguished, and a conversion kit if you prefer propane to the natural-gas preset. The only outlier among these Summit island cooktops is the 24-inch electric model, which has 1,200-watt burners developed by German company E.G.O. These burners just so happen to be considered by many as the best in the industry, but are you really surprised Summit offers its customers only the finest products available? We sure aren’t.
