This Gas Log Set is awesome! I would by this product again!
These fireplace insert logs were easy to install. We had experience from owning 2 previous ones. AND they have beautiful flames and throw out a great amount of heat. We bought one right before this one from another company and it didn't work at all (faulty) and we shipped it back and they took a chunk out of our credit for the return. This is where The BBQGuys come in. I found them (I'm so glad I did!) on the internet and the customer service lady was so nice and helpful with making sure I made the right measurements and that all my expectations would be met upon receiving, opening, installing, and using our logs. We got the vent free and we have propane because we're rural. Make sure you make the right choice for your service--natural gas or propane. The adapter (convertor) comes with the propane logs. We didn't have to go out and buy it. They worked great on the first trial after installation. We've had 2 remote fireplace starters and we love the manual safety pilot the best! Although the remote is handy, we were constantly changing batteries on the remote control AND the fireplace insert. You never knew if it was the remote or the fireplace, so we'd have to replace in both places. Manual safety pilot if the way we like to go...with BBQGuys!

Glowing ambiance and comfort
First, the addition of the natural gas logs in our living room created a warm and welcoming ambiance. We love to entertain our family and friends in this now oft used room. Most winter mornings, we read by the fire with a cup of coffee to start the day. Depending on the weather we may burn the logs most of the day. We are very pleased with the ease of operation and the warm comfort this gas appliance provides. We have also recommended the empire gas log set to friends who have purchased a similar unit.

I would buy this product again and probably will.
I ordered this product yesterday, it arrived this afternoon, i installed it this evening and now i'm setting by a cozy fire enjoying my new log set. Everything was packaged well and arrived in great condition, the installation packet had every detail covered. I really liked the enclosed check list that had actual initials of every employee that installed each part of the burner, as well as the inspector that performed a final test before it was packaged. All you need additionally is a couple of fittings to install from the gas valve of the unit to be able to attach your supply line. The unit works and looks great. The logs and flame look exactly like the video in the ad. I will be buying another set for our second fireplace as well as a set for my mother.

Hi Patti! There should not be any odor from these logs themselves. If you have a gas smell, contact your gas supplier to have it checked as that would be a very dangerous safety issue. Hope this helps.

Does this log set have a carbon monoxide detector and/or an oxygen detection sensor?

Answer:
Hi Brent. The set does not come with a carbon monoxide detector. However the pilot light does include an ODS (oxygen depletion sensor) that will shut off the flow of gas if it detects low oxygen around the pilot light system. This is not a substitute for a carbon monoxide detector or a smoke detector.

I currently have natural gas logs ventless and they are connected to a switch on wall or you can flip on/off on front. Will,this one connect to switch?
