Chef's Favorite: "Best Of The Best" Gas Grills

When buying an high-end gas grill for your outdoor kitchen, pay attention to the features which would best serve your grilling needs. I have made a list of my recommendations for high-end grills and which features I like in each one of them to help you make the right choice. Here are my five favorites:

Chef's Choice:
This is a fantastic top of the line grill. This model is sleek and clean in style, and definitely built to last. It has by far one of my favorite cooking grids of any gas grill I have ever used. The cast stainless cooking grids holds heat well and will probably last forever. The cooking grids are reversible for high heat searing, with channels to move drippings away from the food, which makes for faster cooking without drying food. I love that I can sear over every inch of cooking grid if needed. This makes a huge difference when entertaining 20-100 people. DCS patented ceramic rods maintain incredibly even heat distribution while cooking. This one is truly the best gas grill and my favorite.

In the realm of grilling, Fire Magic's Echelon Diamond exudes class. It is one of my favorites because the flame tamers on this model are designed to allow great flame penetration to the food; without a lot of runaway flare-ups. The cast stainless steel burners rock! They radiate heat extremely well. Another feature that make it a chef's choice is the glow plug style ignition. It's flawless and a nice addition to this high-end grill. I also love the fact that I am able to easily convert from gas to charcoal with the same grill. This allows the versatility that we culinary professionals constantly need.

This model has the smoothest features on any cooking appliance I have ever used! Everything on this grill was designed and engineered for ease of use. There is a variable temperature on the infrared sear burner that is great for either searing large cuts of beef or planks of zucchini. The stainless tray on the flame taming system does an excellent job of holding the ceramic briquettes in place, which is great for cleaning. Another great feature that makes it a chef's choice is that the infrared rear burner is longer than other brands, covering most of the length of the grill. Also, there is a smoker tray specifically designed that is place under the rear burner, so you can smoke the food on the rotisserie. This brings together two of the most flavorful methods of cooking!
