Cal Flame Gas Grills
Cal Flame gas BBQ pits are designed for those who want a little something extra from their grill. The company based in Pomona, California, focuses on technology and innovation while offering solidly built, American-made grills for just about every budget. Their quality is reflected across all three grill collections — the Cal Flame G-Series, Cal Flame P-Series, and Cal Flame Convection Series. Thanks to their quirky features and clever details, cooking on Cal Flame propane grills is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
Though this is the entry-level Cal Flame gas grill, it’s still constructed with a few intriguing qualities. Cal Flame G-Series grills have the company’s signature V-shaped grates, double-walled sides for insulation, and porcelain-coated cast iron burners that will last for years with proper care. The 430 stainless steel body is designed for high-heat applications and is slightly more rigid and heavy-duty than the 304-grade stainless steel found in many other grills, adding to the value of these models.
This collection is a step up among the Cal Flame gas BBQ grills. In addition to the V-shaped grates that give thick sear marks, these grills feature double-lined hoods, complete 304 stainless steel construction, rear infrared rotisserie burners, and a rotisserie kit. They even swapped out the cast iron burners for cast stainless steel ones that crank out 15,000 BTUs each. But what really makes the Cal Flame P-Series special is the included accessory package, which contains a smoker box, griddle tray, and grill cover. Also available are infrared sear burner upgrades and a charcoal tray to add cooking versatility.
This is where the ingenuity of Cal Flame propane grills really shines through. The interior of this line is quite similar to the P-Series of Cal Flame gas BBQ pits, with one major exception — each grill has a 110-volt convection fan built into the body, essentially turning the BBQ pit into an indoor kitchen oven. On top of creating precise heat throughout the entire grill, the fan can be used for everything from searing steaks to slow-roasting huge cuts of meat.
The Cal Flame Convection Series is also home to the Top Gun grill, one of the most decked-out models available today. The Top Gun grill boasts 75,000 BTUs across its five cast stainless steel burners, all of which have an independent ignition module and can be swapped for a sear zone infrared burner. It’s also hard to beat the look you get from the internal halogen lighting and multi-colored LED cast stainless steel control knobs. With other awesome features like a built-in smoker box and central glass window that gives you a full view of your food, this Cal Flame propane grill can serve as both a cooking powerhouse and conversation-starter.
